never been fond of Les Miles but during the game, he coaches to win. and more times than not it works. many more times than not. something Richt and many other coaches should take note of.

and don't forget ND, FSU, Miami...

wow. i forgot that everything was preordained.

kind of meant as a joke but do you really want to go into game thinking your kicker's going to win it for you?
Posted Tuesday January 03, 2012, About: Chizik and Auburn at a crossroads
kicker should have never had to make it. and you should never blame a kicker for losing a game which is to say kickers shouldn't be relied on to win games.

richt is old school. get the lead and shut it down. if you're going to run the clock out, you have to get first downs.

yes they did! they'll be competitive right off the bat. they did draw Bama though and even though I think they'll be much better than TAMU, this will be their 3rd straight year playing in college station. don't think they'll win the east but they'll be in it.

don't disagree about Ark's potential, but it has to happen. they do have the best QB in the SEC which will help keep things going.

not worried about replacing Gus. every one knew the day was coming. plenty of good OC's out there. i've been concerned about Frazier as well but gus came out and said he'd be the starter next year. of course, gus isn't going to be there so take that for what it's worth. (Zeke Pike is also starting classes this month.) not overly concerned about dyer. even though i'd have to agree there's a small chance of him returning, he's not gone yet. plus, tre mason will be alright.

basically, what you're saying is what every one was saying last year. auburn only has 7 Sr's on it's depth chart and none of them are irreplaceable. they'll take a step forward.

Richt is living right...nothing funnier than when Georgia ripped Auburn this year and the following week all the Georgia callers into Finebaum were upset because Richt was going to keep his job.

You may be right about Clemson but I'm talking about the SEC schedule. Miss State was definitely snake bit this year but don't think they're going to be any better next year. TAMU will have a rough year. Not because it's the SEC but because they're just not that good.

Arkansas is returning some key players, but they're also losing some key players - 5 defensive starters, 2 OLmen, and their 2 best offensive weapons. Just depends on how well they're replaced.

I know Richt thinks Georgia is on the brink of college football greatness, but does any one really believe that?

sorry, they'll win 1 of those 3 is what I meant. maybe 2.

Around there...I'm referring to FN blather.
Posted Tuesday January 03, 2012, About: Chizik and Auburn at a crossroads
I think they go 6-2 at least. The 2 will be from Bama, LSU, and Georgia.

I'm pretty sure no one picked Auburn to even make a bowl game much less win 8 games this season. They'll do fine and compete for the SEC West. I'm not predicting they'll win it, but they'll win 9 games at least.

100% agree!
Posted Saturday September 10, 2011, About: A&M unlikely to go independent in '12
of course, my opinion is totally biased on my desire to not see expansion. to many logistical issues which will be way more negative then people realize.

it's not about strength today. today it's about money. a&m is the type of program that can improve and be competitive. just think if mississippi st. had as many students and as rich a recruiting area? a&m knows they can't compete with texas especially with the longhorn network...that's where the credibility is lost.

byu is doubtful to join a conference. all of their other sports compete in the wcc which is all faith-based universities. that was their primary goal with moving and its very beneficial for the football team to stay independent because of the mormon tv network. tons of ad revenue.

nd won't join any conference unless they are the 16th member and need to to stay in the championship mix.

the more obstinate baylor, iowa st, etc. remain, the more likely they're won't be major changes and a&m will join the big east or eat crow and stay in the big 12. i think the sec stipulation on lawsuits was a message that conferences don't want to expand but are feeling the financial pressure to do so.

agree about sec unless they jump to 16 in short order. don't think pac 12 wants them anyway but last night's performance wouldn't change any one's mind for or against. (as ugly as it was, they're missing key players to injury. they'll be competitive in all their games this year.)

if ou goes the conference dies but there's money issues. a&m should have left last year. as it stands now, i think chances of no more changes is increasing. pac 12 is happy where they're at although they simply wouldn't pass up OU and the texas market.

wonder if this all revolves around mizzou? OU and Texas might be more willing to go to the Pac 16 (tech and osu are doing whatever they're told) if Mizzou is going to the SEC. my theory is that if 6 teams bolt, the other 4 are really fighting a losing battle. not a theory as much as a question.
Posted Saturday September 10, 2011, About: L.A. hopes to lure NFL team for '12 season
it's jacksonville, minnesota, or st. louis...best odds on jacksonville followed by minnesota. small chance it's st. louis. new owner was part of stadium project in l.a. but he's a st. louis guy and probably won't move them.

who else is going to be there? south carolina? georgia? odds are equal that UF will make it and i agree they're underrated. loaded with talent and charlie weiss will put it to use quickly.

agree but still might be true. they'll play in the SEC champ game.
