Maclin won't go anywhere, unless he's hit with a huge offer. I don't get the point of the story, because it's completely normal for players to get cut or traded when a new coach, with an entirely new system takes over. This is about as much of a non-story as can be, and I'm typing this as an Eagles fan.
Do you ever have anything meaningful to say, or are you just trying to reaffirm your ignorance about sports and the city of Philadelphia every 5 minutes?
I still see Foles as being the starter. Kelly has said many times that his QB can't be a turnover machine...which is a dead on description of Vick. Barkley may eventually be the starter, but I think Foles is the best choice for this upcoming season.
Couldn't agree more! Everyday I read his comments, and they make me sad to be the same species. I'd be willing to bet he's never been to a Philly game, so he's just eating the incorrect BS that the sports media posts about Philly. Could just be jealous over a city that's actually passionate about their sports teams.
You can leave Hamels off that list. He's been the best pitcher for the Phillies over their time at the top, and he's wearing a ring...the same number that Atlanta has after 14 years at the top.
I don't see how someone brittle like Vick will be able to survive in an offense like this. The "read" part isn't exactly his strength, as he's always struggled to read the defensive alignments.
We need a proven coach with a system that translates well for the NFL. I'd like to see Gruden, Billick, or, as a longshot, Cowher on the sidelines next season.
Foles did pretty well with a second and third string offense. Give him an off-season to prepare as the starter, along with a first-string line and offense, and I'll be happy with that. My focus and attention would be on the defense, where no one's job is safe. The defense, mostly made up of starters, was pathetic, and had some of the worst tackling I've ever seen.
It never ceases to amaze me how people in other areas can be so ignorant of Philly's sports history, yet pontificate about it as if they are an expert. Nothing announces a person's lameness than ranting about Philly sports fans. Why not tell the whole story about "famous" events? Because that doesn't jive with the stereotype? Let's trot out Santa. Does anyone bother to mention that Santa was piss-drunk and flipping off the fans? Of course not? Just that we threw snowballs at him. No one mentions events in other cities, where people are even killed by fans. Nope...just bash Philly...because it's the cool thing to do when you're too stupid to use your own brain. No one mentions Chicago, and how one fan poured a beer on Victorino when he was trying to catch a fly ball? Why? Because it isn't Philly, so they recognize that one fan doesn't make a city.
The real reason people like to target Philly is because we have knowledgable fans who are passionate about our teams, and we have no issues supporting them regardless of records. Yes, we demand effort and call it out when it's missing *cough* Ricky Waters *cough*.
It hasn't been a large sample size, but the guy has gotten a little better each week. Growth is what you want to see in a young QB. He may not be the QB of the future, but he has certainly earned the right to enter camp next season with a chance to earn the starting job.
As an Eagles fan, it pains me to say we probably won't beat the Saints...but it's nice to see the article declare we are already 3-5....instead of the 3-4 record the Eagles really have.
We actually have a backup QB for a change who is a good fit for out system (remember Jeff Garcia), so if or when Vick goes down for a game or two...we'll be much better off than we were with Vince Young. If Vick stays healthy and remembers to hold on to the ball, we should be putting out a better defense that finished VERY strong last year.
If I'm a Nats fan, I am still a long way away from being cocky. They haven't won a damn thing yet, and are a young team...which usually means they fade at the end. Again, IF I'm a Nats fan, I'm very worried about Miami, considering they have much more experience.
If my Phillies can get healthy, they can easily make up 8 games, with about 3 weeks worth of great baseball. That's a big IF, though.
There's FAR too much time left to declare anyone dead. With the lineups they've had to put on the field, to be onlt 4.5 games out is simply amazing. The NL East is far-improved, which means the teams will all hold each other close. That being said, I would have thought these articles would be typed on computers equipped with spell-checkers by now.

The Celtics are a far better team than the Sixers. They should be somewhat embarassed that Game 1 was so tight. That being said, anyone who has played competitive basketball before would understand the logic behind this "decision". Doug Collins is a great coach, and gets the most out of a weak team, but I don't think they can stay with Boston in a 7 game series.
Here's the deal. What he did was commonplace and expected for a LONG time in baseball. Decades and decades. He threw at a young little punk to bring him down to earth. The following inning, the opposing pitchter hit Hamels....and not in the head. Eye for and eye, etc. That should have been it. No suspensions, nothing...for either team or pitcher. It was settled the way baseball players have always settled things. No one was trying to hurt anyone else. It should have been a non-issue.
StupidMoron's name is appropriate. Let's get it out one more time for the ignorant masses who don't care to educate themselves on a story.
Yes, Philly fans booed Santa Claus. We did. Do you know why? He was drunk and flipping off the crowd. Boo hooo, Philly fans are horrible. Same old tired song that makes anyone and everyone who plays it look ridiculous.
Learn to read and form your own thoughts, or keep your opinions to yourself. Simple as that.
