That's why they figure out these issues with collective bargaining, and not by asking people with low IQs to figure it out on internet discussion forums.

The fact that it seems too complicated for you or that some one can't give you an answer you like is irrelevant.

If you believe that then I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you.

When people talk about the NCAA making money, they mean the schools. Just like when people talk about the NFL making money, they mean the teams and the people who own the teams.

If only that had been covered in the single paragraph article...

True, true.

The story to me is Indiana fading. I wouldn't have given the Bulls a chance to even make the ECF previously, but it looks like they have some serious chemistry issues and they might be vulnerable.

I still don't think the Bulls will beat Miami without Rose or Deng, but they could still accomplish more than any one really expected in January.
Posted Saturday April 05, 2014, About: Gasol done in L.A.
Well he was replacing Derek Fisher, so I guess the feeling is that a washed up hall of famer and former MVP PG was still a better fit than a washed up PG who wasn't that good in the first place.

There are people who think that Kobe is still good, too. Come to think of it, one of them is the same guy who signed Nash, and signed Kobe to a ridiculous extension.

Keep cashing those checks, guys!

I seriously don't understand why people want Jay-Z to represent them.
Posted Tuesday April 01, 2014, About: Cavs setting up for major trade
Well remember that Houston was also making a lot of "bad" strategic moves, until some players became available (Harden and Howard) and suddenly all of those bad strategic moves put them in position to bring those guys in because they had the right players and picks to make things work.

I think the Cavs, unfortunately, made a couple of bad draft picks and their owner is impatient, so they're not going to have time to wait in the weeds like Houston did. They'll probably do something monumentally stupid just because they're desperate.
Posted Tuesday April 01, 2014, About: MJD's compensation halved
The reason he was complaining and the reason he got a weak contract are really the same reason: Running backs have a limited shelf life in the NFL and every one knows it. The player wants to constantly get more money: have a good season and you better hold out to get a new contract. Being a nice guy isn't going to prevent the team from low balling you later on.

On the other hand, no team is rushing out to pay a RB, especially a RB with as much mileage as MJD.
Posted Thursday March 27, 2014, About: Allen turned down Oakland's bigger offer
The Bears had a sieve defense, due to injuries, youth, age, and some bad decisions.

The D should be a lot better this year, though they'll still need a good draft pick or two to get back into top 10 status.

They rebuilt an average to poor offense into the 2nd best offense in football in a single off season, and if they can do even half that well with the defense they've got a serious chance to make the SB. I wouldn't put them ahead of Seattle or San Fran, but still they have a chance.

*Sanchez used to date Cavallari.

I have no idea what happened to my mind brain there.
Posted Monday March 24, 2014, About: Sanchez in Chicago?
Sanchez used to Kristen Cavalieri, who is now married to Jay Cutler.

No one wants that distraction, so the odds of Sanchez landing in Chicago are zilch.

No, he made the money from selling the shoe.
Posted Thursday March 20, 2014, About: Rick Pitino irked by tournament selection
I guess he's complaining that he thinks the NCAA did it deliberately, that they wouldn't have been matched up except that the NCAA's television partners want that "story."

It's a silly complaint either way. Maybe he just likes something to complain about to get himself and his team focused.
Posted Wednesday March 19, 2014, About: 'Melo set to explore his options
The Boozer money (assuming they actually do amnesty him) is going to be split between Mirotic and Butler and keeping them out of the tax.

To bring in Melo you would realistically have to dump Boozer and maybe Gibson AND pass on signing Mirotic. Mirotic is a highly regarded prospect considered Nowitzki level in talent, so he's a guy you want to at least roll the dice on since you have him under control.

Melo would get you more points, and if Rose gets hurt again then at least you don't drop to dead last in the league in offensive efficiency, but you give up too much both in terms of the players you have to lose and the salary you need to pay.
Posted Wednesday March 19, 2014, About: 'Melo set to explore his options
Please, not to the Bulls. He actually makes them less likely to win a Championship any time soon, because his contract will make it impossible to get another star player.
Posted Tuesday March 11, 2014, About: Dolan: 'Isiah is a basketball genius!'
James Dolan is a basketball moron.
Posted Saturday March 08, 2014, About: Albert Pujols: Mike Trout isn't in my league yet
Trout's a much better player than Pujols. Whether or not Pujols feels compelled to match him is another matter.
"Every person on here who claims he is all of these negative things would love to have him on their team. "

As a 6th man, at a mid range salary, sure. As a max contract, focus of the entire team "star?" No, I really wouldn't.

I just don't think 'Melo, with his attitude and his game, works as a primary star on any team in the modern NBA. If he'd played in the late 90's and early 2000s when the entire game was just isolating your best scorer and letting him work, he'd have been the best in the league, but the rules have changed and that isn't a way to play winning basketball any more.

There's no doubt that 'Melo is a terrific talent and very skilled player, but he's not an all around player, even on offense, which makes him not nearly worth what he demands to be paid.
The Knicks have also had internal discussions about the idea of trading Iman Shumpert for Lebron James.
Posted Sunday January 05, 2014, About: Jerry Jones wants expanded NFL playoffs
Jerruh, the best way to give your fan base hope would be to hire a competent GM and stay out of the football operations.

It's your toy, you can play with it however you like, but if you make all the football decisions, you're not going to have a good team.
