I would feel sorry for the Red Sox, but I don't, because it's helped us. I mean, look at it: Lugo - Duncan trade. Lugo has been a BEAST with the Cards, and the Red Sox have released Duncan after he batted under .200 in AAA. And, guess what, the Sox are paying for much of Lugo's remaining contract. Now, the Cards pick up Smoltz from waivers from them, and he comes out and pitches a gem. Ya, it was a gem against the Padres, but oh well.
Erm, that would be incorrect. I do believe that the Cubs are currently 3 games behind the Cardinals.
"LaRussa is a grumpy old prick. That's why nobody likes him, not even his own players..."
That would also be incorrect, as that almost everyone in St. Louis (and all of Missouri apart from KC) love him and were celebrating when his contract was extended.
Also, I do believe that the Reds have at least won a WS within the last century, in fact, they won a WS about one fifth of a century ago. Fancy that.

Kurt DOES make a difference. Ever hear of Camp Barnabas? It's one of many organizations he helps out. Oh, and he does minister. My mom's Godmother ministers to the unsaved rich (which is actually a huge mission field, the Bible actually says that it is more difficult for the wealthy to enter Heaven than the poor because they become too obsessed with earthly riches and ignore God) and she had Kurt Warner preach at a dinner and there were people who were saved there. He also has been a guest speaker at numerous churches and does a lot of work with helping people in poverty.
I can understand if some of you disagree with him and think Christianity is a bunch of bull, and it's your right to think that, but what I can't understand is how some of you seem to think he's a hypocrite or using his faith as a PR stunt. Ever consider that there are Christians who ACTUALLY believe what they talk about, live the way they talk about, and actually try and show God's love? Warner is for real.
Ya, sure, there are plenty of things more important than a football game that have implications on people's lives, but it's not like God is only focusing on one thing at a time. He can bless His children on the football field without neglecting the rest, as some of you seem to think. I also agree that there are Christians on both sides so He works through both teams. Kurt Warner hasn't always won, which is evident, but He has never stopped giving God the glory, and He has never stopped being blessed, regardless of the score of a football game.
And really, getting Ford wasn't for Indiana to win the championship, it was to create stability and improve... which has obviously happened already.
It's not fixed, and cries of slanting calls is a crack-pot notion. Plus, whatever happened to innocent till proven guilty... and they WON anyways. If you're STUPID enough to gamble then that's your fault.
Getting rid of Greenspan has been a long time coming. I didn't like him even before he hired Sampson. Plus, Glass is well known for being an honest and discerning guy.
The only reason that Cubs fans are "secure in who they are and don't feel the need to belittle others to feel good about themselves" is because they've come to accept the fact that their team will consistently choke in the playoffs (or regular season, both work for the Cubs) while the White Sox fans (and others) actually expect for their team to perform well or to improve over last season/look to the future knowing it may be bright. It's called having a competitive drive. Cubs fans don't have that, because the Cubs don't have that.

Do you know what, you're right.
The other one didn't play because he was dead though, and his name is Unitas.
