I mean dont get me wrong, he is still a big player, and very much respected, but the league is only getting younger and he's obviously getting older. Look at Yzerman, Hull etc. Still great players, but it was time to go, the game is getting to fast for them. He just wont be "effective" with "today's" game.

This is why I said long ago that when players "retire" there should be a 1 season minimum before they can come out of retirement. All this has done is basically SCREWED the Packers. Believe me, as much as I HATE the darn team and love the thought of them squirming, this just isn't right.

After the tearful press conference announcing his retirement, and after all the time they gave him to decide what he wants to do, he turns around and changes his mind. It's just not right. What would happened if the team went out and signed a big name free agent QB to fill Favre's spot, with money they "thought" they had in the bank being they didn't have to pay Brett? Then the **** turns around and say's, "Oh wait guy's ya know what, I think I changed my mind". The team is screwed, they are screwed if they birng him back because of his salary, and they are screwed if they trade him or release him because Packer fans would be up in arms and screaming for blood. All major sports need to adopt a 1 year retirement rule when players retire.

Shame on Brett for obviously not thinking this through when he decided to retire.

Hey "So What If We Cheated", I don't see it as being harsh at all. I see it as someone getting called out on his inability to display correct sentence structure in a public forum. I also see it as sad that in today's day and age in a country where we have free schooling from kindergarden through high school that someone doesn't know how to connect two "real words" in a sentence without using any kind of street slang.

Thanks compliment spiney norman, I truely enjoy antagonizing low life **** poverty dwellers like HUMPTYRAVENSFAN. Especially when after the fact they claim to be "attorney's". Well, I guess in addition to growing up in the ghetto, being a GEOGRAPHY teacher that doesn't speak correct english and being an attorney he also has a very vivd imagination. It's nice to see that all the drugs and jail house b*tt sex haven't killed ALL of his brain cells just yet. If I was the judge that put him in the clink I would have saed the tax payers money and just had him youthanized.

Question for ya... strictly going by the way you speak you don't really sound "worldy" or well traveled so I was wondering when was the last time you had your electronic tether off long enough to venture past the confines of your front porch to visit such places as Beruit, Beverly Hills or even Toldeo? I am willing to bet you even knouw about Beverly Hills and Detroit because of the movie "Beverly Hill's Cop" and Beruit, well that place hasn't been brought up in the news in quite a few years. Maybe you should place the cardboard box you live in a little closer to a Best Buy or Circuit City so you cathc the news and get caught up on world event's.

You also said that you drove around the Great Lakes and they looked bad... well I'm sorry, but I don't think prison vans really take the scenic routes when transporting people from prison to prison.

How many cups have all those other "fan friendly" teams won that lowered their ticket prices?? Now ask yourself... who's doing something right and who's doing it wrong??

Another thing your getting confused is your definition of a "fan friendly" team... there is a fine line between being "fan friendly" and simply lowering your prices to get people in the seats because you can't otherwise!

Back then they had Lemieux, Jager, Recchi, Murphy, Francis and Samuelsson... the 2007 team was NOTHING like the star studded team of the early 90's. For you to even attempt to make that comparison leads me to believe your chewing metal shavings and lead paint all over again!

The 2007 team had more than twice the super stars. Do not attempt to compair them.
