Raistwalker's Comments

Technically I think he is, or his contract just expired. But according to the rumor mill he's done with TNA.
Goldberg because they two of them put on such a great mach at Mania several years ago....
You assume they will keep the belt on Punk until January? I have a feeling Cena ends up with it at Survivor Series at the latest. Gotta keep those kiddies happy and buying merch!

Posted Wednesday February 01, 2012, About: Are race car drivers athletes - A layman's perspective
Actually Shane Hmiel was not banned for PEDs he was banned for heroine and cocaine use.

But NASCAR does have a very strict drug policy, so strict it isn't even available to the competitors.

And drivers are athletes. NASCAR drivers run 150-200 mph depending on the size of the track and such. The tracks they run 200 mph at they are literally pushing the guy in front of them, while another car is about 2 inches away beside them. One bobble by anyone and you have a large wreck, that those behind now have to avoid by seeing the dangers ahead and turning the wheel to avoid the wrecked cars, the debris, and the other driver still running 200 mph around them. While it is 130+ degrees inside the car. Don't worry they get a "break" under caution, for about 5 minutes if they don't pit, before they are let loose again pushing the guy in front and with another driver 2 inches to their side.

That's not even counting the Indy Car guys who run 200+ on the oval tracks, but their cars are less forgiving. A NASCAR can bounce off the wall, or each other and keep going. as we tragically saw at Vegas that can't happen with an Indy Car. The cars touch there and you wreck.

Hmmm Tag Team or Women....err "Divas" as worst division in WWE wrestling. Can I vote both?

Or how about the main event roster? Outside of John "Super-Cena" where's the depth there? Punk is probably the best technical wrestler in the company, followed by Daniel Bryan, but both of those guys are getting poor story lines just to fill in until they can do the Cena/Rock buildup. If your name is not Cena or Orton you are just a placeholder until they return from injury.

You know it's bad when you have to farm out to a movie start to get a big match for Wrestlemania.

Actually Uh in '92 there were 5 drivers mathematically in the hunt for the championship, Harry Gant and Mark Martin being the other two. But that was based on math that needed Allison, Kulwicki and Elliott to finish in the last 3 spots in the race in order.

I've never seen Swamp People, so I nominate the editors for both shows!

Let's face it seeing a nice calm sea, or riding in a boat in the swamp is hardly gripping TV. But taking the hundreds of hours of footage and making each show exciting, funny, and poignant is what makes both shows. A good editing job can leave some viewers in tears wondering the meaning of life like Deadliest Catch did with the death of Capt. Phil Harris, or a poor editing job can leave the viewer wondering the meaning of life and if this is really Hades like any episode of Jersey Shore!

While I respect the argument of possible blasphemy right has offered, I respectfully disagree as to that being the reason why other players should not be "Tebowing".

I see it as no different then those players who look up and point to the sky/stadium roof after making a big play. I am sure the first player to make that gesture was giving thanks to God, Allah, the spirit of a relative, etc. when they first did it too, but now players do it all the time and people don't call them out for mocking the original player, or to whomever that was gestured to.
The Branding is going away it's already being seen with the "Supershows", so Taker can face anyone on either roster. Even if the Brand lines weren't being blurred right now they would be for Mania, they typically always were that time of year.

Taker is too injured and worn down to face someone younger, it would just make the match look bad like his match against HHH this year. Considering that match of the night just goes to show how poor the other matches were. Foley is a fan favorite and just as beatup as Taker, so the slowness from a career of injuries won't so as much for with man as if they were taking on CM Punk or Dolf Ziggler. Add to that the fact that both Taker and Foley can take a bad looking match and make something of it this matchup becomes visually better.

Make it truly the last hurrah for both celebrating their careers and feuds over the years, especially with a respecting handshake after the bell and you have a real Wrestlemania moment.
I would rather he feud with some bigger name then Henry or Mahal for his final run. I agree it's time for him to hang up the tights he has had an awesome career that will never be repeated.

But come on you think they are going to send him off fighting an interim champ or a nobody? Bring back Foley as Mankind for one final run, they both tear the house down at Mania well overshadowing the farce that will be Cena/Rock and then both Foley and Taker stand in the ring shake hands call it quits.

This was my first thought too. The thing hatched out of an egg on PPV for goodness sake!
Posted Tuesday May 31, 2011, About: The NCAA is Bull
I will agree that the NCAA is bull, but not for the reasons listed by left. The organization carters to the tops schools in their respective sports. When 3-4 of your top ranked football teams loose games to unranked schools and it does nothing to the losing school's ranking then you can see part of the problem right there.

Right is correct in saying that many if not all schools would probably have the same problems should they be placed under a similar microscope as OSU. When a scholarship, or multiple scholarships, is not enough to meet an athlete's monetary needs for the year they have to do something. Although I will say getting tattooed does not qualify as a "need".
Posted Thursday April 07, 2011, About: ONE HIT WONDER in professional wrestling history..
Depends on your definition really.

I'd consider Brock Lesner one because he had a quick rise, from nobody to Heavyweight Champ in less then 5 months, was being billed as top talent, but then left after a disaster of a match with Goldberg (although Goldberg was just as responsible for the disaster) and the left for an NFL "career".

If you are talking about a limited number of matches as a "One Hit Wonder", then I'm sure you can find more then enough jobbers to fill that role.

Here I thought someone would have picked either Hall of Famer Drew Carry, competed in a Royal Rumble and eliminated himself when Kane walking into the ring, or Brock Lesner!
Ok, I just reread the initial premise, and originally missed the "On Track Only" part.
I'll go one step further with the CoT comments and add that Dale Sr's death help move the development of the car forward to make things safer.

I would also consider adding the deaths of Alan Kuwicki and Davey Allison to the list as on entry, mainly because there in the span of 4 months in 1993 two of the top three championship contenders from the previous season had been taken from the racing world.
