I'm starting to see what all the parents say about how fast time goes and quickly kids grow up. My 7-yr old is growing like a weed; the 5 year old is sure he's 7, and our baby girl is already walking and jabbering like you'd expect a little woman to.
My branch downsized in December last year, so the few remaining people had to absorb the responsibilities. I've been out on job sites a lot more, and had very little time to do anything online. Hence, the two-week notice. I'm done with it - no additional compensation; couldn't use my vacation time, etc.
Exactly in all cases - and with many Olympic sports having Sunday events/games/matches it gets pretty dicey. I hope that's the only reason BYU's still hasn't landed in a conference. I think ND's ACC play is genius, but makes me nervous for Independence.
Another BYU quarterback that didn't make any noise in the NFL but has left his mark in the NCAA is Steve Sarkisian. QB coach at USC during the latest golden years, then OC for the Trojans. And last night his Huskies took Stanford down.
1996 ??? his senior year, BYU finished the season with a 14???1 record and ranked fifth in the nation in both the AP Poll and Coaches' Poll, becoming the first D-1 team in NCAA history to win 14 games in a single season. Sarkisian's 162.0 career passing efficiency rating is third on the all-time NCAA list. Only loss that year was (ready for this) to Washington.
I was screaming the same thing! The option was a joke.
The joke of the Boise St. game was that Bronco wanted the game over before Sunday! With the late start time, they were close to midnight at the end. I think it was a bad call - with the momentum and our D playing lights out, we should have gone to OT.
I don't know about the scare yet. Gotta see how they play the next couple of weeks. It could be a totally different team showing up in South Bend. The Golden Domers look awesome right now.
The backup has been senior Lark - but he's been surpassed by Taysom Hill.
Hill originally committed to Stanford before his two-year mission. When he came back, the head coach he committed to was gone, and Stanford doesn't let incoming students enroll mid-year (January). So Hill ends up at BYU.
The kid is one of the most amazing athletes I've seen. And he can throw the ball well. The consensus is they turn the thing over to Hill and see if Nelson can get healthy.
OK - here's what I do know. Nelson is the started, but it sounds like a couple of his vertebras are messed up since the 2nd game of the season. There were times in the UofU and Boise St. game you could see his eyes glazed over. But he's a gamer - linebacker mentality at QB position - and would never go out on his own.
I think the real concern the Big 12-2-1+1-(1?)+(1 or 2 or more) has with BYU is that they won't play on Sunday, and the powers that be in the TV industry say that's not what they want.
Just checking in before punching out for the day -
OU was talking about starting their own network; that's why they didn't understand the announcement about a conference network. Seems a bit hypocritical, especially considering OU had several reps take a tour of BYU's new broadcasting facility.
Budgets are appropriated and approved by Congress - they'd have to convene in a special session; it would have to be proposed on, and bickered over for a couple weeks regarding wording voted on by both the House and the Senate, and finally sent to the Pres. for a signature.
I think SDSU may have more of an up-side to their athletics than people know. Bball is on the rise; football has improved over the last couple years. Could they be a NAVY rival?
I think the TCU invite was genius - and I thought the Big XII should have done it last year when COC & the Buffs left.
From a financial standpoint, you'd think the Big XII would see BYU as a good option; decent in many sports, national following and ESPN is their TV partner right now. Doesn't that look like $$$ when you go to renegotiate a new TV deal?
BYUtv isn't about generating $$ as much as it is getting the games to the fans - BYU's been stuck in the MWC's black hole TV deal for so long, they just want exposure.
How do you feel about the Aztecs commuting across the country for football Armpit?

How are you doing DC?

What are the odds!? I give my two-week notice and there's a BYU thread on T&R. Sorry for my extended absense, but I've now got a little time to surf.
Enjoy your evening boys!
I don't want to be accused of being unsmrt!

I can't stop watching!!
Can you imagine the party politics on this one?!
