no matter what the dodgers offered, manny wasnt going to sign. He is going to ride this as close to spring training as possible, figuring the dodgers or another team will blink first.

Griffey goes against the current baseball culture. Unlike Bonds, Mcgwire, etc who turned baseball players into bodybuilders, Griffey never lifted a weight in his life. In fact, he never even stretched-
"Why should I stretch? Does a cheetah stretch before it chases its prey?"- Griffey quote.

While his career didnt end as strong as he started, when he was in his prime, he was probably the best hitter that wasn't on steroids/andro/whaetever in the game. Perhaps we will never truly appreciate what he did, because of the group of steroid using players he did it amongst. He would have stood out alot more amongst a group of players who were not on the juice.
For example in 98 when Mcgwire hit 70, Griffey finished second in the league with 56. Or in 99, Mcgwire hit 65, Griffey again finshed second with 48. Griffeys legacy is arguable one of the biggest victims of the steroid culture that plagued baseball.

To answer your question, as a Pats fan it would be OK in my book. I disagreed with the eric smith suspension and fine, i disagreed with Hines Wards fines, I disagreed with the thought of a fine on the hit on Tom Brady to end his season, I could keep going. This is the NFL, as Troy Polamalu said " if ronnie lott or dick butkus played into todays NFL they wouldnt survive."

Let them play the game, it seems like he is just looking for publicity. Why else would the head of the NFL be the one to meet with Wilfork????? makes no sense

Jo Pa's age and recruiting is not the issue here, it is the nature of college football recruiting that is killing his program. The web has made it possible for guys like Joe Flaco to go to D1-AA Delaware. Players don't go to the program they have always dreamed of playing for these days, they go where they are confident they can play right away. Prime example= Uconn. As college football becomes more evenly balanced, you are going to find less in state schools completely dominating in state recruiting.

This is forreal, the Patriots will not be stopped this year in the playoffs. Moss is going to be an enormous part of the offense whether he is cathcing balls or not. Either way hes drawing double coverage all game, completely opening up the entire offense. Barring injury, this may be the most prolific offense in the NFL in recent years.
