Jerry Jones is the Cowboys coach and will be until he croaks. Only a small man would allow hmself to be Jones' assistant.
Posted Wednesday December 24, 2008, About: Cowher on Jets' radar?
True--
Mangini takes the hit for the jets front office moronic move of signing the most overated athlete in the history of sports--who is ten years past his prime. Whoever coaches the Jets next year does it without Favre or they underachieve once again.

I'm not a fan although I used to be. I was just thinking of racing as it once was, when it was making money hand over fist instead of hemmoraging like it is today. I still can't believe the money wasted and the 4 hours wasted most Sundays watching Nascar. I guess I, like millions of other outgrew it. You're right bad idea on the pit road speed. How about this one. Eliminate nepotism from the sport. I could never get over the weirdness of father, son ,uncle, brother relationships in Nascar

I still don't understand all the media attention. Dallas isn't exactly LA or NY, yet judging from the media , you'd think they were a SuperBowl contender. You'd think Romo was Jesus Christ. Like people in the east believe Favre has supernatural powers. I'm sick of hearing about them. There are plenty of better teams that are flying under the radar like the Ravens, Cardinals and Panthers. The media is drawn to wallowing in the misery of Jerry Jones and his pathetic organization. I don't get it. I guess everybody loves a train wreck.
Posted Saturday December 13, 2008, About: Steelers coach unhappy with Parker
Dude--well said. Dennis Dixon hasn't even played and is probably their most dynamic offensive player. With him on the field, I guarantee the Steelers could negate some of the blitzes they are seeing--I say use him to spell Roethlisberger a couple of plays a game and run him out of the shotgun.

Parker is right, but he's not the coach and should say what he has to say to Tomlin and Arians.

Arians is the problem--when 90% of your running plays up the middle get blown up for no gain or a loss, try something NEW. They rarely run wide and when they do the gain positive yardage.

Take the roof flaps off the cars, eliminate the speed limit on pit road and only PAY THE TOP TEN FINISHERS and the fans will come back regardless of the economy. It's a bad product because it's not racing--Its riding around.

Who's going to win the other 80 or so for them to make the post -season?
Posted Thursday December 11, 2008, About: Cowher in line to coach Redskins?
Dude, I agree that Cowher was an average coach who lost many big games in which his teams were heavily favored, but to blame his success on the AFC north is a huge stretch. During his time at Pittsburgh, except for the 1st 2 or 3 years, the entire NFC, including the East was about as lame as it gets. The 4 guaranteed wins per year came from the NFC not the AFC North. Divisional games are not gimmees in any division. In Super Bowl play, the NFC East is 1-3 head to head against the AFC north. It's easy to look at the divisions today and see the NFC East is more competative, but the AFC North has two legitimate Super Bowl teams while the East only has one.

Bring back this topic in August when nobody can afford to see the Yankees play due to the depression with NYC hit especially hard. Perhaps the catostrophic melt down in the economy will cleanse some of the greed from the game ---which by the way encompasses only six teams. The rest are triple A affiliates. If the NFL is laying people off right now, then MLB is a walking ghost and doesn't yet know it. By the way, in August, CC will have been on the DL at least twice with 5 to 8 wins under his rather large belt.
Posted Wednesday December 10, 2008, About: Jones tries to explain Barber remarks
Ok, so that was over the top about the fans--My bad.

But...Jerry Jones will only lead Cowboy fans to further heart ache--he is a cancer. They will always be good enough to never draft inside the top 15 and he will continue to spend too much cap on players like Romo who are not cut from the cloth of champions. Long term pain for Cowboys fans I say.
Posted Wednesday December 10, 2008, About: Jones tries to explain Barber remarks
Is there a more nauseating owner in all of sports?--Maybe Steinbrenner due to his longevity. The fact that Jones has not won a playoff game in twelve years ought to be shortening his life span. His year after year failures are exactly what he and their fans deserve.
Posted Wednesday December 10, 2008, About: Cowher in line to coach Redskins?
I was going to comment on all the AFC Championship games he lost while being heavily favored, then I remembered two of those were against a Belichick team that was taping their walk through--so maybe he wasn't so bad after all.

I'd still rather have Zorn.
Posted Saturday December 06, 2008, About: Emmitt: Current Cowboys just 'mediocre'
Emmit's dead on -----Dallas has under-achieved. One win against a team with a winning record and 2 other wins against winning teams at home. They either bring it the next four weeks or you'll see Jerry Jones cleaning house.
Posted Saturday December 06, 2008, About: Two unknown teams bidding on Sabathia
In this economy, not even the Yankees can afford the offer they laid out. Implement a salary cap and baseball will once again be a top rated sport for television. I had to channel surf for 10 minutes trying to find the LCS games on TNT of TBS--where ever they were. There are 6 major league teams--The rest are part of those teams farm system.
