as a bears fan i will really miss this guy. he's not just a great special teamer and teammate, but he was one of the few good guys in the nfl. this is a guy that truly cares about his charities and along with his brother was able to accomplish a lot for the city of chicago. i wish him nothing but the best.

hamels will not be gone. the phillies are just in a situation where they are having to renew contracts for a lot of great young players. howard will probably be out of their league when he hits FA, but with the money that saves they should be able to lock up hamels. utley was the first priority and that got done. however, hamels is the key to that rotation. they will save their money to ensure he can get an acceptable contract when the time comes.

we do NOT have a hole at CF Meteora. Get with the **** program already, people. pie is young as hell and has less than one year mlb experience. you can not write the kid off without giving him some decent playing time. he's incredibly fast and he's not being asked to lead the team. all we need from him is excellent defense (which he HAS), and maybe hover around the .250 mark. enough said.

if berrian goes to the viks, he will be out for the year after the first meeting. i see some broken ribs and a concussion. honestly, as a bear fan, i wouldn't give anybody on the offensive end that kind of money unless we're talking superstar. and berrian is not a superstar (don't dare try to argue that). he lost a step this year, and the bears would be smart to go back to marty booker at a much reduced price and hit the draft with some offensive ferocity.

the bears are way under the cap, so overpaying berrian is not a big deal for one year. besides, mark bradley and berrian make for a much more lethal combo than moose and berrian. the bears have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds. at least one will be a receiver. plus, look for hester to step up his game next year.
