Griffin is young, like any employer taking in a newcomer with little experience, it's easy to mold and form them around your existing infrastructure instead of changing/molding everyone else. NFL is a business, they're gonna treat it like one. It's not Griffin's team or even Luck's, they have to eventually prove themselves and make it their team in the long run by proving themselves worthy.
I lived in Indianapolis for a few years, always enjoyed watching the Pacers. I'm happy they got a solid team once again. I just now hope they meet the Heat in the playoffs for some great entertainment and a likely chance of bumping them out early. :)
SI has them at 24. I'm sure everyone is gonna rank them a little differently, either way, their defense stinks and will continue to stink as long as Mike is head coach. The only boost they got this year was Chandler, who's gonna push any team up the defensive category if he's healthy because of his style of play. Other than him, the rest of the team isn't defense minded, they're being brain washed by their coach.
Mike had a championship capable team in Phoenix at one time, but they didn't go all the way because he doesn't coach defense.
It's all gonna change once Ball Hog Anthony comes back. He doesn't like it when there's someone else on the team who has to take a gazillion shots to reach 20 points or more, that's his job. ;)
I like Lin. I'm happy he's doing good instead of keeping the bench warm. But I also think the overhyped motivation will soon fall back down to normal levels, more players will learn his play (which is erratic at times as he's still learning) and he can't go the way he's going forever, playing 40+ minutes a game (I don't care how young you are) takes it's toll.
But no matter how good he is, Knicks won't win a championship until they get another coach who actually implements some type of defense.
The game yesterday was horrible officiating both ways actually. The only reason the Knicks won was basically that sleeper Novak hitting some key 3's. Lin did well but he also did horrible, people only concentrate on the positive but the kid needs some more development for sure or this is gonna come crashing down hard on him and he'll be sitting again in his hotel room with tears down his face. ;)
It's called a contract. Unless he broke a specific rule in the contract that led to his getting canned to void the rest of such contract, they're obligated to pay him. You do understand what a contract is right?
Well, Dirk is almost 10 years older than all of those guys as well, that's like comparing a 25 year old to a 60 year old outside of sports on who's in better shape and has the most endurance. All those players you mentioned will be complaining about the aches and pains when they're approaching their mid-30s as well. ;)
Actually, if you consider the new CBA coming into action along with an aging superstar Dirk, what I think Mark did was smart. He didn't want to overpay for Chandler for the next 4 or 5 years with a guy who's actually had injury problems. As much as I give Chandler credit in helping them win, not signing him for such a long period with the chance his career could end any game now or missing a large portion of his signed contract, it was a smart move I think on Cuban's part to think about the future. Really, Dirk is approaching 34, he's got maybe 2 good years left in him. Terry is out soon enough, Kidd is gone after this year and most of his latest pickups only have year contracts. Cuban is definitely no Dumars.
McNabb is bitter and old.

They're overall rank though still stinks compared to others.

But Odom does need to let go already and start playing basketball for crying out loud.
