That's good news because the Cardinals have several pitchers in that league with sub 2.00 ERAs and sub 1.000 WHIP.

They are taking their time with this kid, why not? The Mets aren't going anywhere this year. Harvey is an outlier. Most pitchers see their numbers suffer when promoted to the major leagues.

He's like all politicians. He mouths whatever sells to his local crowd. You can't sell NJ Republican in Texas any more than you could sell Texas Republican in New Jersy. The more I see of him, the less respect I have for him.

It's time for him to retire. He's a first ballot hall of famer. I was hoping he could come back long enough to be able to go out on his own terms. It doesn't look like that's going to happen.

They don't mention that Ozzie Smith wasn't a part time player by choice. He still hates LaRussa with a passion for not letting him be the full time shortstop at age 39.

It's a fine line that divides an intense desire to compete and arrogance that hurts the team. He's not the first extremely competetive player to cross to the wrong side of that line. Rolen did it in St. Louis. I don't fault him for it; but it caused a huge rift between him and LaRussa.

I think he's well over the cusp for HOF. He was one of THE two dominant pitchers of his time. I consider Pedro the other. Doing what he did against the brutal Yankee and Red Sox lineups was simply amazing. At least the Yankee and Red Sox pitchers didn't have to face their own line up the way Halladay did.

I don't see why people say he's bluffing. Reading the Chicago message boards says out of towners and the Wrigleyville residents and businesses are the ones who would complain most about losing Wrigley field. Most Cub fans seem to think both Wrigley and the neighborhood are a pia.
