If they wanted Vick gone they would have cut him when they had the chance instead of reworking the deal. He's here for this season. After that who knows, re-worked it to a 1 year deal.
Or not trolling. Or being a decent human being. Or not using insults in a correct manner. Or having a brain. I could go on for hours, but I think you get the point.
Wrong. They signed Young because they were trying to fill a gap. They are not desperate to get younger. They have players in the minors that look like they could all step right into the infield. The outfield is young.
They took a gamble to try and squeeze one more year out of what they had. Looks like it probably won't pay off. Definately not going to pay off with a title, I doubt at this point if they make it to the playoffs. Howard is still one of the most feared big bats in the league. The only reason you move him is to make room for Darin Ruf who has been an absolute butcher in the outfield, although is improving.
Utley is a FA at the end of the season and is putting together one heck of a season so far, finally being healthy for the first time in 2 years. He will be very attractive to a contender come trade deadline if the Phillies choose to go that route.
It's not crazy talk though. Corner is a pretty hard position to project to the next level. I don't think it is out of the realm of possiblities to see things in Rhodes that would lead someone to believe he will be the better pro, or higher draft pick atleast.
How much did Milliner benefit from having better players around him? Or how much was he avoided because the corner on the other side was a liability? How much was the scheme?
I'm not saying any of that is or is not the case here, but I don't see the craziness in thinking a player how also had a very impressive college career will jump over the guy just ahead of him.
Yes. Because all of the top players in the NFL are out of the SEC. And no one from the SEC ever turns into a bust. There is no talent anywhere in CFB outside of the SEC. And you talked about homerism?
