Posted Saturday October 13, 2012, About: Nationals don't second guess shutting down Stephen Strasburg
You could have done a number of things. However, pitching in a normal fashion until he reached 170 innings in August was probably not the smartest idea.

I shouldn't have said "thinking that". Of course as an organization you try to make playoffs every year and believe in yourself.

We never limited any of our players in hopes of next year. And I am not even saying run Stras into the ground. Easily could've skipped starts, or had him piggy backed with a John Lannan towards end of the season.

Getting whacked by the Cards the way they did, made my failed Phillies season a whole lot sweeter.

The get what they deserve. And don't think for a second that all of those players in that clubhouse aren't second guessing the Strasburg decision. It's not written in stone that they automatically make it back to the playoffs or have the opportunities they had this year. Thinking that clearly shows an arrogant and undisciplined approach. They could have easily limited Strasburgs innings when it became clear that the playoffs were a possibility. For some reason, they felt that shutting him down completely was the best idea. Now they all can wonder "What if?" for the rest of the winter. Enjoy that bitter pill.

All that being said, I understand the baseball gods are with the Nats this year and they will be moving on at the end of tonight.
Posted Friday October 12, 2012, About: Nats GM fires back at fellow execs
Glad to see that they've been filling up their stadium the last several weeks, since it was empty for the first seven plus years.

God I hate the Nats.
Posted Friday August 24, 2012, About: Marlins ready to go young, take lumps?
Does anyone really care about the Marlins?
Posted Wednesday August 22, 2012, About: Swisher seeking 'Jayson Werth money'
It will be interesting to see what free agents get this year after last years excessive and unwarranted spending. I mean, Michael Bourn is not a $100 million player in any universe. Swisher should not sniff a Jayson Werth deal. Josh Hamilton is not worth the risk past 3 or 4 seasons.
Posted Wednesday August 22, 2012, About: Swisher seeking 'Jayson Werth money'
I don't really care what your name is, if you are 32 or 33, owners should really only be handing you a 3 year deal. Especially, if you play in the NL.
Posted Wednesday August 22, 2012, About: Swisher seeking 'Jayson Werth money'
Nick wants "Vernon Wells" money!
Posted Wednesday August 22, 2012, About: Swisher seeking 'Jayson Werth money'
So Swisher is 32 and wants a contract that is universally panned in the sport. Some of these guys are clueless.
Posted Wednesday August 15, 2012, About: Weber deal pinching Preds
If Nashville needs to be fiscally smart, the Shea Weber deal does not make any sense at all.
Posted Wednesday August 15, 2012, About: Angels sinking toward a new low
The AL version of the Phillies. Spending a lot of money does not automatically mean success. No matter who your starting pitchers are, if your offense and bullpen stink, your team will stink.
Posted Tuesday August 14, 2012, About: Strasburg decision unpopular in Nats' clubhouse
I am so loving the fact that the Nats are going to shoot themselves in the foot and shut down Strasburg. "Natitude!!!"
Posted Thursday August 02, 2012, About: More to Hamilton's on-field issues?
It will be very interesting to see what Hamilton gets on the free agent market. Teams simply don't want to hand a former addict, who is still having some sort of emotional problems, $100 million. I hope the guy gets things together, but this guy clearly has some demons.
Posted Friday June 29, 2012, About: Phillies looking to move Thome to the AL
They wanted left handed pop off the bench and a good club house guy. Plus there was some hope that Thome would be able to play the field maybe twice a week. And he simply wasn't able to.

Bullpen help please.
Posted Wednesday June 20, 2012, About: Maddon blasts Nats manager after pine tar incident
Davey Johnson is a wimp. It's a chicken s--t move.
Posted Wednesday June 20, 2012, About: Maddon blasts Nats manager after pine tar incident
The next pitch to Harper after the incident should have been at his head, then Johnson could see why the opposing pitcher might want to have better control.
