I don't think Gainey did anything wrong this summer. Koivu's time had run its course, he wanted a chance to go win a Cup and play with Teemu, so it was his time to go. Komisarek seemed determined to leave, he split quick and to our most hated rival, but he's not worth the price that Toronto paid for him. And as awesome as Kovalev can be, he's so frustrating to watch on nights he decides to take off. He's not worth the gamble, not if you want to build a long-term winner.

Ancelotti seemed set to have Kalou as his other striker, with the amount he was playing him in the pre-season. But every Prem game that Kalou has played in he's looked like shyte. With Shevy gone, Anelka is even more important than ever. I can see Chelsea signing another striker at the next transfer window.

Spurs are looking great right now, and the way the Scousers are playing, I wouldn't doubt that Spurs make a real push for the top-4. I really like Pavlyuchenko, but he needs to be on a team that will play him regularly. Ruud coming to Spurs would be a great move, he knows he's not going to play much at Madrid anyways, and who knows, Keaner could go down to injury at anytime.

I couldn't get tickets to the game, but I went to the practice last night. WOW! That was coolest thing I've ever seen. There were 20,000 people jammed into BMO Field just to watch them practice. With support like that, I can't see them not playing Kaka or Xabi.
