Since Jeter is only owed $8 million in 2014 I don't see him being an issue .
Posted Wednesday December 05, 2012, About: Yankees put Granderson on the block
He had 18 doubles, he had 65 "extra base hits" last year. Of course maybe you'd rather he had 43 doubles and 18 home runs .......
Posted Tuesday December 04, 2012, About: Dodgers in on R.A. Dickey trade talks
The fact that Wheeler was in high A is pretty much irrelevant, he was the 6th player taken in '09 draft, to get a prospect like that for 2 months of Beltran was a tremendous deal for New York.

Wheeler is likely to make his major league appearance this year, less than two years after the Mets acquired him, that's "almost ready" in my book.

Are you Mike Napoli's agent ?
Posted Saturday August 04, 2012, About: Nine future Hall of Famers in Yankees lineup?
I'd rule out Jones immediately but all the others have to be in the HOF conversations.

I'd think Jeter, Rivera and Ichiro are locks, Rodriguez will have to fight the PED issues, Pettite is probably going to come up short, Teixeira, Sabathia and Cano are all still "works in progress". I'd guess off the top of my head that a minimum of four will end up in the Hall and possibly five if A-Rod gets a pass.
Posted Tuesday December 13, 2011, About: Pujols' wife blasts Cards
Damn I wish just once someone would insult me with a $130 million offer to play baseball for five years .
Posted Saturday October 08, 2011, About: Sabathia expected to opt out of Yankees deal
He's got 4 years left for $97 million. $24.25 per year, there is no way he'll lose money by opting out so of course he's going to take a shot at even more money.

All things considered if I'm the Yankees I'd extend him through 2017, he'll turn 37 that year, and I think he'll stay in New York.
Posted Saturday June 25, 2011, About: Dodgers may move Furcal for rookie
Mattingley is in his first year as a major league manager, he hasn't even had time to be consistent.
Posted Sunday June 12, 2011, About: Are Yankees pitchers protecting A-Rod?
A-Rod is a bigger target :)
Posted Monday May 16, 2011, About: Mets begin paying Bonilla $30M over next 25 years
In 2000 the Mets chose to "buy out" the $5.9 million they owed Bonilla and defer payment for 11 years, then pay out annually for 25 years at $1.19 million per year based on an annual projected interest rate of 8%. Bonilla makes out like a bandit because of where interest rates went but at the time it didn't look like a bad deal for the Mets, the prime rate was over 8.5% so the agreed rate appeared more than fair.

The deal saved New York "up front" money and allowed them to sign Todd Zeile and make it to the World Series that year, also at the time the prime rate was

Now, however, with the team cash strapped and the prime around 3.5% Bobby Bo is laghing all the way to the bank - that's a helluva pension .

Honestly if you are going to Spam North American sports sites with shopping deals can't you fine a single person in the company who is literate in English ?
Posted Sunday May 01, 2011, About: How Dodgers owners destroyed themselves
McCourt has a net worth in excess of $1.2 billion, the Dodgers were sold to him for just over $400 million seven years ago and are currently valued, by Forbes, at over $700 million . So while McCourt has been destroying the franchise its' net worth has increased by an average of $45 million a year during his tenure

McCourt may be lacking in marital skills and baseball acumen but money is one thing he has in abundance .
Posted Thursday March 10, 2011, About: Sox to walk away from Wakefield?
He already has a one year contract for this year .
Posted Saturday February 05, 2011, About: Report: Rangers still exploring Young trade
Young is 34 years old with a career OPS+ of 105, good not great, he's a defensive liability wherever he plays and he's scheduled to make $48 million over the next three years.

Texas would be irresponsible not to explore the possibility of moving him.
Posted Saturday February 05, 2011, About: Cano chooses Boras as agent
The days of agents getting 10% are long gone. The industry standard now is 4%, which is tax deductable .

Given the complications, wording requirements and time requirements that go into a contract having an agent just makes sense .
