Muschamp's pretty respected in Austin. If Mack leaves (or is kicked to the curb) in the next two years or so, the job will be offered to Boom. With prob'ly a 50% or so increase over what he's being paid in Gainesville.
Austin is not a potential home for Golden. If Mack fails to get it done in these last three games we're gonna steal Coach Boom back. Unless that takes more than $8,000,000/year. Then it's prob'ly Peterson or (my personal preference) stealing Briles from Bible Aggy.
I do see Golden as a possibility for the other UT. He would be a good choice for Fayetteville, but they seem to want someone higher profile. Sand Aggy school governance personnel (i.e., president and AD) is a freakin' cluster-****. I think it has to be viewed as a job of last resort for any quality coach.
He has too many underclassmen for what he has them trying to do, and he can't seem to accept that. Your LB's can't handle sophisticated twists without getting confused and losing gap integrity; stop calling so many damn twists until they figure it out (or until you replace them with guys who can figure it out). Your DL's suck at pass coverage; stop calling blitz schemes that have them dropping back to cover receivers.
Jury's out on everyone until the next three games are played. Maybe we clean house and go steal back Coach Boom, I don't know.
1 - Will Coach Boom choose to stay in Gainesville if ("when" if they lose to Bible Aggy tonight) the job in Austin comes open? Would Peterson be interested? Dana? Chip?
Hell, if Bible Aggy wins tonight, maybe we just lure Briles into our locker room after the game.
2 - Who the [***censored***] decided to demote Guyer to 4A? And why the [***censored***] did they have to be in Rider's district.
I'm thinking more along the lines of a modified version of "12th man" on defense. Gonna hide in the DKR press box with a sniper rifle. Nothing short of that would seem to offer much hope.
............... Hey, I'm only gonna use tranquilizer darts, not live rounds!
Funniest part of Paulsen's skit was that he actually started polling in the high single digits, had to explain on the TV show one night that it was a joke, please don't really vote for him.
...................... I keep hoping Romney and Obama will do the same thing, just come out in the middle of a debate and say "Just kidding, folks. We don't really expect you to believe either of us should be president." My initial fantasy was that the "Tone Down the Screechy Rhetoric and ****-in' Fix Stuff Party" would come out of the blue and nominate Colin Powell/Olympia Snow. That one went the way of the fantasy about Marisa Miller.
"What's My Line" is nothing. Colonel was already in an old folks' home when he first started listening to Burns and Allen on the radio. Senile old coot didn't even realize Gracie was kidding, he wrote in her name when he voted for president.
............... I wasn't yet old enough to vote back then. I did vote for Pat Paulsen a few years later, though.
The injury that matters most for this game is Hicks. Texas' leading tackler and much, MUCH more importantly, its defensive signal caller. Good guys were confused as often as not against Ole Piss after he went out. Somebody else better step up in that role or tonight's total combined score may rival the Bible Aggy/Brokeback Mountaineer contest. Turns out speed and athleticism on defense don't matter so much if you have no clue what your assignment is. Speedy athletic guys who don't know where to go can get out of position really fast.
Minimum of $15,000,000/year to the school for 20 years - I'm mildly curious as to the definition of "commercially viable" in College Station. Please tell me y'all didn't buy one of those dictionaries written in Lubbock.
Byrne couldn't stomach the idea of cooperating with the 'Horns on anything. And his petty attitude done cost y'all a boatload of cash, plus the opportunity to get a bunch of y'all's pretty damn good athletes in non-revenue sports a fair amount of TV coverage.
OK, I'm swamped and don't have time to play. But I couldn't pass this up.
Will check back in with y'all when I can. Everything at work is good, but Jesus H Tebow - I'm too freakin' old to push this hard for so long.
FIRE RICK BARNES !!!!!
................... I still want to steal Briles.
::Sigh::
