Not sure about that. College football has done extremely well in the last several years when Notre Dame was irrelevant and it will do the same in future seasons when Notre Dame is irrelevant again.
Don't see the Reds being a player. They'll have a hard time keeping their own team together. Sad reality of baseball. Small market team develops talent. Small market team contends for a few years. Small market team's stars go free agent and sign with big market teams. Small market teams start over.
Won't ever happen. Ricketts thinks he knows how to operate a baseball team. The current ownership is just a version of the Wrigley's. And the bad thing is, these people are all young. It might be 40 or 50 years before another ownership group takes over. It sucks, because we could have had Mark Cuban. Now that guy knows how to spend.
If the Cubs are going to way overpay for a first baseman, I would rather they pay Fielder instead of Pujols. They'll probably pay about the same for Fielder, but he's a left handed hitter and much younger. Not in as good a shape as Pujols, but hey, this is the Cubs. Either way, they'll get burned.
That's the only explanation...Tebow is the Anti-Christ!
