If Gillispie loses Jasper - and the murderous practices and the prosper of more injuries have to be a factor - next year could be bleak. Tough isn't everything.
One thing I've never understood, too - if the trailing team is fouling to trade two (or less) points for a three on their end, then why shouldn't the leading team foul late and force the trailing team to shoot free throws? Not right for some games, but had Memphis done that in the last two minutes, they would have still won even if Kansas hit them all. A nine point lead with two minutes to go - it was the biggest choke in tournament history, bar none. Yes, I know that isn't running out the clock. That's the point. Up six with a minute plus it's a winning strategy.
The only surprising thing I ever heard Packer say was that the Kansas/NC was over with 25 min. to go - and he proved to be wrong. As usual.
