Fitzgerald is a class act and a great player. Maybe he's finally waking up after their post-superbowl failures. Time to move on, Fitz.....time to move on....!
I know. That wasn't my point. It is interesting, though, that his comment actually leaves room for the discussion of shortening the preseason but leaving the regular season at 16 games. Maybe someone is poking him in the ribs and telling him that to stick with it instead of going to 18 games is a better idea.
Naw. Just relocate him. He's an awesome re..... um.... He's a great rec...... um..... One day he may be a pretty decent rec...... Oh, who am I kidding???
Exactly. You've got 200+-pound guys running around on a field in pads at mach 6 every time the ball is snapped with the only mission of knocking the other team to the ground. How do you prove intent? Oh, wait!! That IS their intent. All it takes is one misstep and a guy's ankle snaps (Favre) or his cheekbone is shattered (Boldin). Was it intentional? You figure it out....
Dude! Football IS assault. It's all about stopping the other player/team. Hit 'em hard, hit 'em often. Players are trained to hit hard. As hard as they can. Was Williams right to tell his players to knock the other team's players out of the game? No! Was he right to pay them a bonus for hurting another player? No! But send him to jail? Charge him with assault? No! If you REALLY think this is a chargeable offense, charge the players who knocked the other team's players out of the game and got paid for it. Oh! That's not going to happen either. It's a game, guys. Their behavior shouldn't be considered illegal, just unethical. Punishable, yes. Criminal? No.
And in other news, the Patriots have hired David Beckham as a speed coach to teach their players to avoid rugby players at all cost. Film at eleven....
In other news, Brett Favre is contemplating coming out of retirement again to play for the Bears in order to give them a better chance of getting Hester more receptions to justify the move from returner. Film at eleven!
C'mon!!! Why do they have to keep using the same stupid pic?
(Oh, and why are we talking about pre-season games again???)
