The real problem is that Spurrier didn't even make the choice. The director of football operations Jamie Speronis filled out his ballot. Much like the final coaches ballot at the end of the year. Most, if not all, of the head coaches across the country don't have the time or care to fill out the polls. So the whole "coaches" opinion on pre season accolades or final standings that unfortunately have an impact on the BCS just needs to be thrown out.
