Uh. Smarts, last year is the only year he played in less than 100 games since his first year in 1993.
The thing is, I don't care if he is trying to get some money, he deserves it after all the times he could have gone for more $... and if any of you know Chipper you know that he does not want to go down injured. I truly think he would have retired if he had not gotten hurt. And I think he deserves to get the chance to retire his way.
Sabermetrics only measure #'s. They are only half the story, and anyone who actually watches baseball would know that.
I also believe that if he had not been injured, we would have taken the world series. Chip has given so much to our team, and I hope he has an amazing year free of injury!
