Before EVERY SINGLE PITCH Blanton wipes sweat off his forehead and adjusts his hat.
It's a nervous tic, no doubt. But if the end result is the same as a spitball, then, nervous tic or no, he shouldn't be doing that.
All you need is a forehead's worth of sweat to make that fastball slide off your fingertips and do unpredictable things. But if this is something that this pitcher always does, then maybe no one's making a big deal of it.
The World Series is different. Maddon should have had his guard up and demanded that the ump keep Blanton from doing that. At the very least it would have **** with Blanton's mind, even if his tic has no effect on the ball.
The "one-trick" part was Brown's gadget passing TD, but the formation itself is solid with a lot of potential against the right defensive match-ups.
