McCown had one good season in a system designed by a coach who has the rep for being an offensive guru. Now tell me, is this because McCown suddenly became a quality QB at age 34 or is it the coach who has a proven track record of success? Don't forget that McCown was a street free-agent when the Bears signed him.

Much ado about nothing, as Sam was a Day 3 pick at best and won't amount to anything but practice squad fodder.

Posted Sunday February 09, 2014, About: Will D.J. Augustin re-sign with Bulls?
Gordon doesn't play D and won't pass the ball. Nate Robinson wanted more money than the Bulls could offer. Hinrich was brought back to play a specific role as a defensive specialist and was not expected to log the minutes he has to due to Rose's injury and Teague's failure to develop.Rose's injuries have been the reason the Bulls have not made a run at a championship and you can't blame management for that unless you're clueless.
Posted Monday February 03, 2014, About: Report: Lakers, Wizards, Bobcats asked about Taj Gibson
Article quoted here was written by Joe Cowley. Anyone familiar with Chicago sportswriters knows that Cowley is just trying to stir the feces and nothing more. Gibson isn't going anywhere, cap space will be freed up by the amnesty of Boozer in the off-season and the Bulls will replace him with Euro superstar Nilola Mirotic.
Posted Tuesday January 28, 2014, About: Deng returning to the Bulls
Who's to say the Bulls would take him back? Not from spite or pride, just that he's an "old" 28; Coach Thibs has played him for far too many minutes during the last two seasons and he is an injury risk.
Posted Tuesday January 21, 2014, About: Cubs told Tanaka he'd be their ace
ok, I'll make it simple, Tanaka isn't worth $20-25M per year. Bob Gibson in his prime might be worth that and Gibson was such a dominate force that he led to a rule change that lowered the pitching mound.
Posted Tuesday January 21, 2014, About: Cubs told Tanaka he'd be their ace
The Cubs do have money to spend but why spend so much on an unproven commodity. What happens if Tanaka turns out to be the next Hideki Irabu instead of Darvish?
Posted Tuesday January 21, 2014, About: Cubs told Tanaka he'd be their ace
Who said do nothing? But if the choice came down to paying the money that Tanaka is projected to get and doing nothing then yes nothing would be the better option.
Posted Tuesday January 21, 2014, About: Cubs told Tanaka he'd be their ace
Cubs minor league system is fairly bereft of pitching but are they really so desperate that they'd pay $20+ M a year for a guy who's never thrown one pitch in MLB? Well, I guess it wouldn't be the Cubs if they didn't do something stupid. You don't go 107 years without winning a World Series purely by chance and circumstance.
Posted Sunday January 12, 2014, About: GM: Bulls 'retooling' not rebuilding
The Bulls are not that far from being a championship caliber team, if Rose can stay healthy. Sign Augustin, bring in Mirotic from Europe, amnesty Boozer to free up cap space and make one good free agent signing and they'll have a team that can compete with Miami. Rose being healthy is a big if at this point.

Would you like some cheese to go with your whine? Maybe some aged Fromunda?
Posted Tuesday January 07, 2014, About: Cavs mulling over Bynum offer from Bulls
Bynum won't play a minute for the Bulls, he'll be waived to get them under salary cap. Boozer will be amnestied at the end of the season, Nikola Mirotic will finally be signed and the Bulls will have money to sign a big name free agent.Makes plenty of sense to me.
Posted Tuesday January 07, 2014, About: Bulls tanking for Parker?
Not true, the Bulls made a contract offer of 3 years/$30M which Deng turned down. Rather than lose him for nothing at the end of the season they made a deal that put them under the luxury cap threshold in a season where they were not going to compete for a NBA championship and got additional draft picks to help the rebuild process. It also fees up playing time to develop Tony Snell, who's shown promise in limited action this season. Call it tanking, if you will but its in the long term best interest of the team.
Posted Tuesday December 31, 2013, About: Lovie taking Tedford with him to Tampa
Lovie Smith is the perfect example of the Peter Principle; someone who gets promoted until they reach their level of incompetence.
Posted Monday December 23, 2013, About: Narrowing the uprights?
If you narrow the goal posts then teams will more than likely punt in a situation where they would previously attempt a long field goal, which will mean more punt returns. The NFL just moved the kickoff spot up to discourage returns because of the possibility of injuries/concussions on a return. Am I missing something here, or is the NFL a bit schizophrenic?
Posted Tuesday December 10, 2013, About: Bears have a QB quandary on their hands
Wuth the exceptions of Harbaugh and Grossman the guys you listed were all mid to late round picks. There's enough talent in this draft to grab a guy in the 2nd round or later who will work out.
Posted Tuesday December 10, 2013, About: Bears have a QB quandary on their hands
The cost of signing Cutler, the need to rebuild the defense and having a draft class that is deep in talent at the quarterback position should add up to the Bear cutting Cutler loose and keeping Mc Cown as the starter while they develop someone. The Bears are two years away from being a serious Super Bowl contender.
Posted Tuesday October 22, 2013, About: Bears may move on from Cutler
The Bears are in decline and need to blow things up. Let Cutler go as there are several good QB prospects in the next draft that will be available when its the Bears turn in the first, or even the second round. Trestman is supposed to be a QB guru, let's see what he can do.
Posted Tuesday October 15, 2013, About: Report: Jazz could be interested in Bulls' Marquis Teague
Really? Trade for an injured player and a pick who most likely won't amount to anything? Explain the rationale for this, please?
Posted Sunday October 13, 2013, About: Report: Jazz could be interested in Bulls' Marquis Teague
Why would the Bulls want to trade him?
