What a horrible move for Kc! They lose the best hitting prospect & their #1 pitching prospect who they'd have locked up for 6 years for a guy who had 2 good years in the bigs?

I thought the royals looked promising w a young talented lineup & developing pitching but Madden strikes again. How does that weasel do it?

Who ever was scouting Nishi- forshame! This guy has the weakest arm I've ever seen from a major leaguer. True, he's getting overpowered at the plate, but a good hitter can change his bat speed/timing.

Keep looking for a 2b Twinkies, maybe our <good-for-nothin> scouts will find someone eventually.

Oh you simple minded fool! The Rays wont be trading the only good hitter on their team, especially not the face of the franchise.

Segura's a big loss- a decent all around player who'd be an upgrade over Aybar or Izturis. They already have Weaver, Wilson & Haren (if he can find the strikezone). I know everyone says pitching wins but do the angels have enough cap space to resign him?

<cough> Garza & Ortiz come to mind. Trading Johan for essentially nobody & Ramos for Capps. I could go on but my Twinkies have made a lot of bad decisions.

Span will go 1st probably to Washington, they're looking for a CF that could lead off. We need to move Liriano now if we're gonna get any value. And as much as I love Morneau, he's gotta go. He hasn't been the same since his concussion- his approach to lefties is awful.

I gotta feeling we're goin to be cellar dwellers for a while. 90's here we come!

The angels wont trade Bourjous. Wells & Hunter will be FA next season so I suspect the halos to move one of them though they'll have to eat most of their contract. That'll lower their payroll so they can get Shields or Garza and retain them for a few yrs.

Greinke wont go to KC. They just cant spend the kinda $ he's gonna be looking for. How about St. Louis? Losing Pujols they didnt do much in the off-season to diminish that loss.

It's cuz of this damned pitch count that everyone's obsessed with. It doesnt show you how pitchers are doing. Some of the best were out there throwing 120+ pitches per outing and 300 innings a year.

Let them pitch to their strengths. If a guy can make'm look silly do it. If ur a groundball pitcher, induce those. You got to dance with you brung ya.

I concur. It's gonna take a big package for the O's to acquire Greinke. They're in rebuilding mode & it doesnt make sense for them to trade for a guy that's gonna b a FA @ the end of the yr.

Plus does anyone really expect them to stick around? Probably just a case of building interest before the deadline.

REBUILD. Big Z's contract will be off the books next year and Soriano's has to be almost up. Chicago's one of the wealthiest cities in the nation and they have a young CF with a lot of potential. If they can add a few top prospects, in a couple yrs they'll look good- Tampa & Washington a few examples.

Location, location, location. He flies open too quickly, and cant maintain a good release point. Watch him- he's lookin @ 3b when he releases, then pirouettes. If he cant locate his fastball, then his slider is useless. He's always had great stuff- just loses control & therefore confidence.

He'll be gone before the season's over- shoulda traded him sooner.
