This is a lot of talk from people who have no idea who this kid is. In the past 2 seasons, Goodwin averaged over 10 yards a carry, and this season 13 yards per catch. It's not his fault Texas' offense sucks and the coaches have no clue how to utilize him. I'm sure an NFL offense could figure that out.
When speed doesn't matter in the NFL, give me a call.
- The Castro comments might have been the stupidest thing he could have possibly done. Like, if you had asked a bunch of people to write a list of "the stupidest things a public figure could do in Miami" that would grade out at #1. - Then Yunel Escobar puts a homophobic slur on his eye-black, and Ozzie feels the need to DEFEND him. HE'S NOT EVEN A PLAYER ON YOUR TEAM, AND HE'S IN TROUBLE FOR BEING AN IDIOT. And his defense of this guy is "my kids say that all the time. " Congrats Ozzie, you're raising homophobic idiots just like you.
Alienating Cubans and Gays in South Florida is a great first couple steps to being jobless.
I'm sure his next step will be to write an open letter to the Miami Herald about how much he dislikes old Jewish people and the Miami Heat.
The Marlins didn't hit the panic button too early. It was their plan from the start. A.) Get a new stadium B.) Sign a bunch of free agents for a lot of money C.) Sell record numbers of season tickets. D.) At the first sign of a bad season, cut as much payroll as possible and start "rebuilding".
Jeffery Loria does it again. It's incredible. He is the least respected figure in all of sports.
If Marlin's Park had the same dimensions as the field in Philly, Giancarlo Stanton would break every homerun record that ever existed. The kid is a monster.
He deserves WAY more hate than LeBron got. LeBron was a free agent, and left his awful team. When he was there, he tried to win, even though his team was awful. Dwight cried and cried and didn't try, even though he was getting paid. Let his team down, got his coach fired, looked like an ahole.
He's not even going to be ready for camp. What a jerk.
At least everybody 'KNOWS' the Dolphins will be bad. I can't wait to see Mark Sanchez throw 2 pics in week one and then Jets tumble into disarray. Hooray for schadenfreude!
He has worked out for the Marlins, but to what end? He produces runs that don't matter for a team that's out of it.
If the Marlins brass has half a brain between them (HUGE ?), you move a healthy Logan Morrison to 1st next season, and move Ruggiano to left. That's an upgrade at both positions defensively, and if Ruggiano (who has batted like .380 this season) can even hit .290 next season, a huge upgrade offensively.
Now if only they could sign a good center fielder, any third baseman at all, a solid starting pitcher...and if Heath Bell could throw a strike....and if they had a catcher sniffing .190...
Also, I should add, now that Allen is gone, the Celtics are 100% classless. Doc Rivers is the only person left in that organization who isn't a scumbag.
As a Heat fan, I have to say that this is awesome. Not because of 37 y/o Ray Allen, who I am happy to have on the Heat, but because he left the Celtics, and twice as much money, for the Heat.
If he had left and gone to the Clippers, it wouldn't be a "prick move". But he went to the Heat, and I know that it STINGS Celtics fans.
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. And they were never going to beat the heat ever again.
I'm sure there's almost no other actual Marlins fans who read these, but where does Galarraga fit in here? Unless Zambrano falters, there's really no need at all for another starting arm, and this guy, aside from pitching the perfect game, has done nothing at all. Anibal Sanchez has been really good since last season. In short, what's the point?
When speed doesn't matter in the NFL, give me a call.
....oh.

Sucks to be the Celtics. The Reign is over.
