Hmmm...I'm confused. Did you leave the sarcasm tag off that comment? I would imagine most Leaf fans would be in favor of trading their entire team for Washington's. Unless 35-37 win seasons are what you Leaf fans are shooting for.
A .909 save percentage playing on a team who's priorities are 1) defense 2) defense 3) defense, 4) offense does not make one a first string goalie. I can however understand his desire to leave LA and go to a team where he will get more play time.
Oh boy...development camp news featuring a player who wasn't even good enough to be among the top 270 draft eligible players. This is bad...even for the interns.
WHAT?!?! Nash better makes sure he takes his "For Sale" sign off his house in Columbus if that's what Howson's asking. That's ridiculous. Seguin alone would be overpaying for Nash. Let alone a starting #1 goalie, a blue chip prospect and a first rounder.
I couldn't agree with this more. When you get on the hill you had better come with the attitude that you're better than every hitter you're facing. The moment that doubt starts to creep into you mind is when you start to get in trouble. When you start second guessing your pitch selection or even worse, your stuff you're in for a tough run. Right now it doesn't seem like he's trusting his fastball which is his best pitch.
I think more accurately, Nash only wants to play for a contender which isn't a hockey first (read: Canadian) market. If you're talking contenders, Vancouver as it's currently built should win a cup long before that mess in San Jose does. So why wouldn't the Canucks be on the list?
Well the sound I heard from 6,000 fans in St. John's last season was a collective gasp when Orr completely missed his check and obliterated himself into the boards in the corner. High comedy.
This bothers me way more than it should. If this report is true, I think it honestly changes how I feel about seeing wear the Maple Leaf in international competition. It's an illogical feeling really, but I can't help thinking less of him now.
Oh my god...would all these stars just **** about their contracts and future plans and just focus on the GD contract they have signed. They cry about wanting contract extensions so their futures are protected, but then whine about being locked into a contract when everything isn't going 100% their way. You can't have it both ways. And Dwight Howard, I'm looking directly at (a picture of) you when I'm ranting about this!
I can't really speak on how they're prepared, but I just took a look at the Jays pitchers over the past month or so and only 6 times in the last 30 days has a Jays pitcher thrown over 100 pitches. And only one time in 30 days has a pitcher thrown over 105 pitches.
Compare that to the Yanks who've had 7 guys thrown over 100 pitches in the last two weeks!
So I don't see Farrell going all Dusty Baker on his starters.
Leafs Elimination: April 3
Burke's firing: Jan 31
