I think part of his "coming out party" during this year's playoffs was due to the fact that he knew this was a contract year. Jerry Buss and the Lakers have been through the frustration of dealing with a complacent Lamar and I agree with their stance on the contract offer. As a die-hard Laker fan, I can think of so many times I wanted to go through the TV and choke Lamar for being so Lax on the floor. He frustrated the crap out of me.
If the real Lamar is about winning, then he'll take the Lakers offer and stay on a winning team as the leader of their bench. If Lamar is about ego and appearance, then he'll go start in Miami, make less money, and enjoy longer summers. At this point, most Laker fans aren't as supportive as we used to be because we're tired of the diva behavior. Only 1 Laker can get away with being a diva and that's #24 because without him, we're nothing (#24). Without Lamar, we're still at the top.
