Why is it T.O.'s supporters seem to think that his attitude is perfectly acceptable? I have no problem with big egos -- what I have a problem with is the need to insult and attack those around you. Be big, be loud, be ridiculously proud of yourself -- but don't blame your quarterback if you alligator-arm a catch. Don't blame your coach if you run the wrong route.
Chad Johnson's a good example -- he trash-talks, but it's always in jest. The players he mocks usually love it, because he's having fun. T.O. is Chad Johnson with a serious anger problem.
I'm only bringing this up because while misspelled words bother me, mis-corrected words bother me more.
Carry on.
Oh, and to attempt to stay on topic: let the coaches coach! If it's worth getting T.O. the ball, he'll get the ball. If you can't trust your coach to figure that out, get a new coach.
Out of curiosity:
Nike: Just do it.
It's not you, it's me.
The Addams family had Cousin Itt.
I know a geek in the IT department.
But the Super Bowl? Outside the USA? That would really, really tick me off. There's no reason to do it. If it's just to draw international attention to the league -- we've already got the whole world watching the Super Bowl!
(Then again, I'd like to see the Venn diagram representing "All Those Who Care About Football" and "All Those Who Know What The Heck A Venn Diagram Is." I'm hoping the intersection's a bit bigger...)
In terms of the Pats taking Moss, I don't understand what they were thinking, other than "Wow! What a cheap deal!"
I know people say Belichick and his staff have taken other "bad boys" like Corey Dillon and Rodney Harrison and helped make them into solid players, but I don't think that's the issue... Randy Moss, as much as I can't stand him, is fantastically talented; his off-field issues have been irritating but relatively minor compared to many other players (although I think he should have done at least a little time for hitting that traffic cop with his car, no matter how slow).
The issue is that he DOES quit early, he DOES dog it on plays, and he DOES require negative feedback to start actually working hard. He improvises. And while a gunslinger like Favre would actually enjoy that sort of improvisational freedom, I've never seen that level of malleability from Brady. It doesn't seem like a good fit.
Of course, the Patriots have surprised me before.
