Totally agree. I would also add that the defensive line needs some upgrading as well. When Ratliff is injured they are mediocre at best. Drafting linemen on both sides of the ball needs to be a priority.

I don't think we can crown him the best football player this year just yet but he's definitely in the discussion. What he's been able to accomplish so far this year has been amazing. The Vikings have exceeded everyone's preseason expectations. Nobody on this thread (including me) gave them a chance to even have a winning record this far into the season. P. Manning is good but he's playing on a much better team in arguably a weaker division.

Romo doesn't have the mental resiliency to make the Cowboys a winner. Both guards are horrible and D. Free is just O.K. as a tackle. D. Bryant is a talented WR who does not have the discipline to maximize his God given talent. The Cowboy defense is much improved but without a healthy Ratliff they are only average at best. Jason Garrett doesn't possess enough leadership skills (probably the reason why he was a career back-up QB in the NFL) to make the Cowboys a winner (leaders don't tolerate the never-ending mental mistakes/penalties that the Cowboys seem to lead the league every year) and his play calling is too predictable to make the Cowboys a consistent winner. You are correct that Jerry will never hire a GM but since I'm proposing to blow-up the team I get the latitude to dream a little.

After watching this team underperform for the last 3-5 seasons (really longer than that), I pray Jerry Jones blows this team up at the end of the season. They have repeatedly demonstrated that they aren't disciplined and they aren't capable of winning football games as a team. As a life long Cowboys fan, it's time to have a fire sale (minus a few key players) and start over with a new coaching staff, a real GM, a new QB and a new O-line (to name just a few areas).

I'm hoping the injury to the center that resulted in having to move all the lineman into new positions is the major reason why they had so many false starts and delay of game penalties. Either way we'll know if they are for real or not after Week #6. The Raven game will separate the men from the boys.

I've kept my mouth shut most of the week. I saw plenty of things wrong with the Cowboys performance during Week #1 not to get too excited about them just let. Specifically, the 8-10 false starts/delay of games and like 90 yards in penalties. However, I did like how the defense played and how we actually finished a game for a change.

I live and work on the east coast right now and you would think that the only people who know anything about everything are East Coast born and bred. It's pretty comical. I had to listen to all the "experts" telling me the Cowboys were going to get the crap kicked out of them by the Giants last week. Let's just say it's been pretty quiet in the office this week.

The Cowboys have not been in the cellar the last 15 years. They've just been mediocre. They don't need a resurrection; just some discipline in order to be a better team. As for the best team in Texas right now commment, I'll give you the Houston Texans are a better team right now based on last year's record. However, last year was really their only really good year so I can't agree with you that the Texans have been a better team than Dallas for the last 5 years.
