Chelsey Buhler

Now I'm picturing the negotiation going something like this:
Boss: Pap, sorry.
Pap: *pouts*
Boss: Really, I am. Don't sweat, you'll get your massive payrise soon.
Pap: Oh you!
This really was a low risk / high reward move by the Red Sox, and if it pays out this quickly then I'll be surprised.
That fifteen minute, smackdown brand of justice is pretty much all that these clowns deserve.
As for Montano, if he's the chap who was at Parma briefly, he did look a hell of a talent at the time. He just moved continents far, far too early, and I am sure he'll do a job in that league.
Seriously though, he'll need to be a talent if he's stuck behind Xavier and Babayaro.
Either way, you are a troll. Ciao!
Roger Clemens is a cheater, and deserves to have an asterisk as much as any other player that has taken steroids.
Bonds was a great player, but he chose to take illegal substances and tarnish his legacy.
Does that help? Again, there is no race angle.
(But this isn't a discussion about Bonds in particular, so ner!)
Antonio - there is no race angle here. Clemens is dirty because he is dirty. Bonds is in trouble because he is dirty. I fail to see what you are saying.
"They have SOME records. I didnt see checks and such on any significant player. Pettitte? Didnt see anything on paper for him. Ostrich? Im saying you still need proof. 9 times out of 10, someone's word will help solve a case, yes. But the word leads them to proof, they dont convict solely on that persons word. Law and Order 101."
You bit? Great.
Witness testimony is as compelling as physical evidence. When there is physical evidence to boot, it's a done deal. This is how the trial system works (at least here in the UK).
Besides, it's all a bit moot - this isn't a trial, none of these players are going to face criminal charges (FOR SHAME!), and there isn't reason to discount the testimony given (by Giambi, no less). They would NOT have named names if they weren't certain, because libel law would ruin them. You do need to remember that DLA Piper are a rather good law firm.
Perry Mason 101.
Nine times out of Ten, star witnesses come from the criminal fraternity.
Hope this helps.
(Seriously, this isn't all hearsay. They have checks, phone records, you know, physical evidence. Don't be an ostrich!)
That said, Mitchell went on record as saying that the list wasn't definitive, and that they lacked the "proof" to name further players.
I am sure that other names will pop up in the coming weeks.
"Without physical evidence, their "word" is just a bunch of crap coming out of a less than reliable person."
You are familiar with how this stuff works, don't you? The old saying that there is honour amongst theives is largely nonsense.
Sadly, you're coming across as being a little "tin-foil-hat-chip-under-skin" about all of this - the evidence is what it is, nor was Mitchell wasn't the only person involved with the report.
The main whistleblower was from New York.
Ergo, there is going to be a large representation of New York players.
Please do not let the fact that in, addition to being far better than you, the Red Sox are far cleaner illegal substance-wise, cloud your judgement over the efficacy of this report. (Tongue in cheek.)
Surely, surely you can't imagine that a New York snitch is going to be in a position to offer that many names from out of town?
Oh, and as for your US Attorney policy of not going after the users - am I naive in thinking that there really ought to be an exception to this rule for sportspeople?
I thought these were meant to be performance *enhancing* drugs!
For some reason, I still have a good feeling about this. Despite the money wanted getting somewhat silly...
Seems a bit childish to me.
