Field Marshall, can you put out some cease and desist order on this "doctor" who destroyed Prisicilla Presley's face, which had been a work of art? Your dissertation of enhancement at any cause is right on the money. Elvis would turn over in his grave.
Posted Monday March 31, 2008, About: Arenas may take less money
EMPIRE:

I have no problem with guys donating their money. I have a problem with the knife to the neck negotiations that result in untenably ridiculous salaries to marginal players and then the all the rearranging under the cap goes on to get the team the players want, but were all too greedy at the gate.

I think we all understand that is how the game is played by agents, lawyers and owners, not to mention stage mothers. Makes the players look particularly ridiculous when they command huge $ and then either bomb or get hurt on a guaranteed ticket. Brain surgeons who operate on children with cancer can't get those deals.
Posted Monday March 31, 2008, About: Parcells pushes Ricky's buttons
HANK HILL is fun and a breath of fresh air in this world of increasingly frustrating insidious corruption and deceit that seems to pervade our society. Hank Hill, although just a cartoon, actually has morals and tells the truth, while everyone else is frantically trying to figure out how they can blame another for their own mistakes, lies, crimes...you name it.

The name of the game has become blaming others and making excuses, often behavioral misteps that suddenly spring to life as a medical problem!
Oh, the devil made me do it! I have bad boy syndrome, I can't be blamed for that! My shrink told me I am not responsible for my violent tendencies and foul mouthed abusive behavior. Those around me just have to understand, I can't help myself!

Doesn't it just feel better and feel right to JUST TELL THE TRUTH AND TAKE YOUR MEDICINE LIKE A MAN? Can't we go back to the old ways when your word was your bond, when promises were kept and when the courts were not the omnipresent first resort of dispute resolution.

America does know better and deserves better. We have soldiers, sailors and marines giving their lives, fighting to preserve "our way of life." Our way of life from 50 years ago, not the way this country behaves today.

Little ole Hank Hill is right. Thanks, but I just had to vent.
Posted Monday March 31, 2008, About: Conte promises BALCO book
Only problem is you have to stand in the shower while reading the book.

Victor Conte...coming to your town soon for a book signing. Is everyone ready to stand on line to meet the man?

Gotta love it...he's cashing in while Marion Jones rots in the federal penitentary after she finally fessed up, yet her supplier will go on to cash in.

Wagers anyone on how long it will be before Conte is back having another sit down with the feds, on a completely different crime, of course. The guy appears to be an inveterate con, and he actually seems to enjoy it. Can he be barred from the human race or would that be wrong?
Posted Monday March 31, 2008, About: Arenas may take less money
One player should give another part of his paycheck to persuade the guy to come to work....am I missing something here? That'd be the day that would happen in the real world. Think union employees who would scratch each other's eyes out for a raise in grade or a few cents on the dollar. The American way in the work place is every man for himself when it comes to negotiating pay. If Jamison thinks he is worth more, he can earn it, don't take it from your fellow player...see how long that harmony would last! One guy makes less so a greedier guy can hog more of the pie. Some major moral gaps here. Arenas should be commended, but I question his logic and longterm thinking for the financial future of his own family. Jamison should do his own contract work, and Arenas should have faith in himself and the rest of the team. Greedy players always bomb or get injured. Payback is a *****!
Posted Sunday March 30, 2008, About: Paterno: New contract no problem
Is this all about Joe, or about the team and the school? He is only one person, or did "i" get added to "team" to make an exception for Joe. Its time to move on and give someone else a shot. Nothing lasts forever and I think the games would be alot more interesting with a new head coach with new ideas and someone interested in scouting, working out with the team, running new plays... basically coaching like a real, live coach. He should go out with dignity, not get pushed out because he doesn't understand when its time to leave with grace.
Posted Sunday March 30, 2008, About: Parcells pushes Ricky's buttons
Give Ricky a chance to blow it, but if there is any coach in football who can force this guy to produce, its Parcells. So time will tell. Its just too bad the guy seems to need a babysitter. Parcells is alot of things, but he is no babysitter!

Posted Sunday March 30, 2008, About: Biggest surprise of Yanks' spring...
Giambi has stayed in shape year round throughout his career. His work ethic and lack of judgment, along with the standard huge ego of a big leaguer contributed to the problems that have tainted his stats. But he can still play, and he came clean earlier in the investigation than most guys. Let the guy make a living.

Matt Birk, a Harvard man and a star in the NFL. A real mensch. As always, he will do the right thing. Matt, call Sid or else no dog bone cookies!
Posted Sunday March 30, 2008, About: Steinbrenner denies Yanks sale
Hank has been the Prince Charles of the Steinbrenner dynasty for so long, he can't wait to make statements that will attract attention. However, I seriously doubt Hank will sell the very reason the Steinbrenner family exists on the international stage. He has not waited in the wings all these years, just to put an end to his dream of Yankee fame. Hank needs his time in the sun. Ego wills out, always. Pop isn't making the decisions anymore, and Hank has the tiger by the tail. I say "Good Luck," and may the Yankees return to the days of playing thrilling, solid, pride inducing games for their fans, and of course, for the owner.

This thread makes myspace reads like a bunch of Ph.Ds. How about more sports and less mass stupidity?
Posted Monday March 10, 2008, About: Rangers to close Yankee Stadium
Does this mean the Yankees will play an exhibition at MSG before they implode that dump, which is about 30 years overdue. Its a stupid idea, how about the Islanders playing Shea? And the Meadowlands? Well that's a shoe-in, it would have to be Bruce Springsteen, out of respect. Sorry Giants, but you only have 2 Super Bowls, the Boss really owns that place, you only rent.
Posted Monday March 10, 2008, About: Girardi questions Rays plays
Its common knowledge that spring training is designed to bring guys up to speed with new teams, get into game shape for the start of the season and hopefully, not get hurt in the process. Yeah, blocking the plate is the catcher's job, but targeting a guy in spring training? I don't know, it just doesn't seem like good sportmanship. Does anybody else out there remember that word? Am I old just fashioned? I think the dirty stuff should be saved for games that matter. I mean, get something out of it, if you're going to take someone out.
Posted Monday March 10, 2008, About: Bonds intrigues Mets execs
I can see the NY headlines already....Barry... bonds...out.
Posted Monday March 10, 2008, About: Bonds intrigues Mets execs
Bring Bonds right to the Metropolitans, immediately. The press will love it, and so will the public. Bonds can sit on the bench all season, b/c God knows, the Mets will use him as a DH about once a century, he will be under the microscope and I just don't see him feelin' the love in NYC, if you know what I mean. The Yankee fans will see to it that his time in NY is an absolute nightmare, and Met fans will soon follow suit. They don't want that dreck in their lockerroom or on their bench. But hey, it is the Mets and they have been known to do some pretty strange things. While they're at it, I hear Mookie Wilson and Ron Svoboda are thinking of making combacks, so leave some room under the cap, OK? I mean, if we are looking to the assisted living facilities for new wood!

Posted Monday March 10, 2008, About: Zimmer joins Yanks-Rays feud
Gotta love the Zim. Remember when he was with the Sox and they played the Yanks in '77? I thinked he screamed at the ump on every play, went back to the dugout, kicked a few coolers and then put some more nuts in his cheeks and went out and did it again! Fun to watch and he's still doin' it! Reminds me a little of the Rat. I miss him.
Posted Monday March 10, 2008, About: How will Nowitzki be judged?
Say what you want, the guy can shoot the ball, and in the NBA, that alone is an incredible accomplishment. He is a "go to" guy, and nearly any team in the league would loved to have had him in their club.
