Dan888, there may be some examples of teams with bad chemistry succeeding, but all I need is Yanks to show me that team chemistry is not overrated. And I wouldn't be so sure that the Yanks will be able to solve all their pitching needs through their minor league teams. Yes, Hughes will most likely be a stud, and Wang is great too, but after that it's a coin flip. Rasner, Desalvo, Clippard, Karstens, Igawa aren't locked into this future rotation just yet. Desalvo had 2 good starts, both against the Mariners, then crumbled after that. Karstens and Rasner are both up in the air due to injuries, but Clippard does look good (but only after 2 starts). So the future rotation is....Hughes, Wang,____, _____, _____. We need pitching help...lets get it.

Yeah, they're the Rangers.

Hyper, Kevin Thompson just got called up from AAA so, the answer is no.
Posted Monday June 04, 2007, About: Is a Dye for Abreu deal brewing?
Dan888....I am the biggest Arod fan in NY/NJ but it's obvious that NOBODY likes him. Don't tell me to "think before i write", when team chemestry is obviously the Yanks biggest problem, and the most unlikable guy in the clubhouse is Arod. I agree, he may be the best ballplayer ever, but the fact is that nobody likes him, not even Torre. I just think that if you can get pitching(and you can probably get whatever you want for Arod), then you should do it. Pitching is more important then hitting, if you have't figured that out yet. It's time to get core guys, not allstars. I understand keeping Matsui around, but he is an embarresment int he outfield, and I'm not sure he's worth all that money.
Posted Monday June 04, 2007, About: Is a Dye for Abreu deal brewing?
I agree that he would be a good right handed bat in the lineup, but if the Yanks go after Ichiro next year, I'm willing to bet he'll play center. Damon's arm is an absolute joke/embarresment and we need to trade him or atleast stick him in left. So that means, trade Matsui(because it will be much easier to trade Matsui then it will be to trade Damon). So next years outfield could be Ichiro, Dye, and Matsui/Damon/fill in the blank.

Bankrupt? This team is worth over a BILLION dollars. I don't think they're going bankrupt anytime soon buddy.

Anyway, Texiera is a solid first baseman, and with all of the injuries it might be a good move to try and get him. Here's a trade:

Mike Mussina for Mark Texiera straight up

Lets rid ourselves of this guy. He's a piece of crap. He can't throw more then 100 pitches EVER. He can't pitch on short rest. He can't pitch on long rest. He can't pitch in the playoffs. He can't throw at anyone to intimidate them(because the one time he did about 7 years ago, he got his **** kicked at the mound), and most importantly, he has never stepped up and the Yanks haven't won a World Series since he has be on the roster.

Posted Monday June 04, 2007, About: Is a Dye for Abreu deal brewing?
Nice try lastchoice. Haha...I guess this would be a good deal, but isn't Dye's contract up after this year? He's a solid ballplayer and might help this lineup. Next to go is Matsui, then Damon, then I say trade Arod(not because of his play, but his clubhouse persona). But the only way we should do it is if we can get some top tier pitching in return. It's time to build a team around pitching, just like the good old days!
Posted Sunday June 03, 2007, About: Injury grounds Rocket from series
I agree that the Lowell hit/check/tackle was legal, but I have one question. If ARod had done it, how many people would say it was dirty? Im willing to bet that benches would have cleared and it would have been on the front page of every sports website America.
Posted Saturday June 02, 2007, About: Torre: A-Rod shouldn't have shouted
I think it's pretty obvious that Torre is not a big Arod fan. He moves him to 8th in the lineup last year (he would never have moved Jeter, Giambi, Bernie, etc. to 8th nomatter how bad they were struggling) and now he speaks out about his displeasure with the "interference" incident.

I'm not too sure how Arod is as a person, but if a bunch of players say they think he's a dick and it's fairly obvious that Torre isn't a big fan, then he's probably a dick. But regardless, Arod produces. Everyone**** about his personality, but the fact of the matter is that alot of pro athletes are **** holes. Nobody really bitched about Arod until he came to the biggest stage in the world and everything was mangnified. All I know is that if his personality is such a problem in the clubhouse then maybe the Yanks should consider dealing him and bringing in a top tier pitcher before they lose him to free agency.
Posted Saturday June 02, 2007, About: Jets may keep McCareins after all
This guy sucks. One 100 Yard recieving game in his career. Thats all I have to say.
Posted Saturday June 02, 2007, About: Jets' Martin hoping to return?
Yeah Jets #1...not dominant. Only he and Barry Sanders rushed for 1,000 yards in each of their first 10 seasons. People who say that the "only reason is his longevity", are morons. He was tough as nails and thats why he was able to last so long. He played with injuries, never fumbled, was a team leader, not to mention that he led the league in rushing at the end of his career.
"But he was never really a dangerous player unless the blocking in front of him was top-notch."----hey bro, he played for the Jets. Yes, there were some decent teams, but only one or two of those teams would be considered "top notch", and thats really strechting it. And by the way, Adrian Murrell and Leon Johnson were the RB's before he came to town. How did they do? Im not saying he's the best ever, but he is the most underrated RB in NFL history and is a definate first ballot hall of famer.

And please don't try and tell me that I didn't watch him play week in and week out because I've been a season ticket holder since 1985.
Posted Saturday June 02, 2007, About: Absent Cowboys disrespect coach
Hey cowboys22...not sure where you were, but there has been pleanty of Moss bashing for a LONG TIME. I agree that TO takes alot of heat, but it is ALL brought on by himself. You want to talk about someone who gets abused, ARod really takes a beating for NOTHING. And there really isn't that much "bashing" going on here. Everyone here has admitted that T.O. is a great athlete. Is he the best WR in the NFL? Hell no! Is he worth all of his whining and complaining, and locker room controversy? I guess that depends on who you are, but I say no. Just remember, he wanted the attention, now he has it.
Posted Saturday June 02, 2007, About: Jets' Martin hoping to return?
If Curtis thinks he can go, then he should give it a try. I don't think he can, but I hope he can end his career on his own terms. You the man Curt!!!
GO JETS!!!
Posted Saturday June 02, 2007, About: Absent Cowboys disrespect coach
Hang on...Shouldn't Julius Jones be getting more abuse for not showing up rather then T.O. I agree that Owens is a cancer on the team, but what has Jones done in this league that warrants him missing workouts? This guy is overrated. He shouldn't even be considered the number one back with Marion Barber on the roster. I'm not a Cowboys fan, or a T.O. fan, and I agree that everyone (including superstars like Farve, T.O., Moss, etc.) should be at OTA's, but I think we should be more focused on these overrated, overpaid, arrogant atheletes like Julius Jones not working hard, as apposed to T.O., who just had surgery, not showing up. But I guess TO has brought this on himself.
GO JETS!!!
Posted Friday June 01, 2007, About: Angry Jays claim A-Rod interference
There is nothing wrong with this play. People are making a big deal out of this because it is Arod. This happens everyday. The reason the Jays got so pissed is because they look like as sholes. There are 50,00...well, 30,000(it is Toronto)fans screaming, not to mention players in the dugout, screaming throughout the game. Call the ball, thats your answer Toronto, we've been taught it our whole lives, CALL IT!!! And now they're gonna plunk Arod next time he's at bat. It's not Bush league, it's baseball. Get over it!
Posted Tuesday May 29, 2007, About: Yankees would bid on Teixeira
Nick Johnson was too injury prone. But you're right when you say it all started with Giambi. They need to get back to the way that won them championships. I say you keep Wang, Hughes, Pettitte, Jeter, Cano, Posada, Arod, cabrera and maybe Abreu(depening if he comes out of this slump), and try and get away from the rest of these older, overpaid players sometime in the near future. Build around thise guys, the young pitchers, guys in the minors, and try and get some more young talent. Don't worry about winning the series every year, worry about fielding a team that can dominate for the next 10 years.
Posted Tuesday May 29, 2007, About: Rocket says he's ready to blast off
You're right. The lineup needs to wake up and the relievers need to wake up. One thing Clemens will do is spark this team. He doesn't want to lose, and he'll be the most vocal guy in the clubhouse. Thats what this team is lacking, a vocal leader, and thats what Clemens will bring.
Posted Monday May 28, 2007, About: Yankees would bid on Teixeira
Sure...why not? He's a better option at first then anyone we have now. My only concern is that Cashman is going to deal all of the young pitchers just to save his own ****. I'm more concerned with the future then I am with making the playoffs this year.

And to all the people saying "the Yanks don't need hitting they need pitching." You're wrong. This lineup looks old and tired. Who knows if Damon will go on the DL in the next few days, Abreu is in the worst slump of his career, Cano isn't hitting, Matsui isn't hitting, and the 3 man platoon at first base aren't hitting. The lineup needs help fast!!! The only pitching we need is in the bullpen, but finding a quality reliever is a difficult thing to do.
Posted Friday May 25, 2007, About: McNabb-for-Briggs trade unlikely
WOW...I hope none of you guys who are trashing McNabb are Eagles fans. But most likely, most of you are. This would be an UNREAL trade for the Bears. Briggs is decent at best, and Mcnabb may not be the best QB in the league, but he's probably top 5. I would give up a LB for him in a second, especially if my QB was Rex Grossman.
Posted Friday May 25, 2007, About: Big Papi would play for Yankees
He'll never leave the Sox. Even if he did, I don't think the Yanks would pursue him. You know he's dreaming of wearing pinstripes though. Haha, everyone wants to be a Yankee.
