Heres the thing though. The Lightning are locked into long-term deasl with St. Louis and Richards who I believe both have non-movement clauses. This means that since the rest of their team isn't good enough to bring any kind of a return...I mean who wants Denis and that contract they signed him to as well...Lecavalier is really the only way they can get a high-end defenceman which they desperately need. The only other option they really have is to talk one of their other big two into waiving the clause and I wonder if they would do that to go to the Leafs (both being good Canadian boys don't rule it out) since the Leafs have 3 albatross-contract d-men themselves in Kaberle, Mccabe and Kubina. Would St. Louis for Kaberle as a base (about 1.2 mil difference in salaries would need to be worked out) not work for both teams?
