Miller has a modified NTC. He can block trades to 8 teams. He's said previously that he doesn't want to play in Canada, so there's 7 of the 8 right there.

So a Minny or St. Louis trade makes sense.

I'm a Sabres fan, and I just can't think of any reason why he would stay...regardless of what Ted wants.

Blues do make a great fit. He can have a bunch of trips to SoCal, and be on a time primed to win--and possibly get his name on the cup.

But he can be traded 8 times.

Miller can provide an 8 team no-trade list.
Posted Tuesday October 29, 2013, About: Sabres were open to making Vanek NHL's top-paid guy
I wish. It was 7 years.

As a Sabres fan, thank God they didn't sign him to some crazy deal. He'll be much better on a team where he's not THE guy. He just is not a natural leader. He'll be great on the Wild, where that role is already filled.

I find him delightful

Heatley is off the books after this year. Unless he accepts a 1 year, $1M contract, he'll be somewhere else.
Posted Monday October 14, 2013, About: Speculation has Vanek moving to Minnesota
This is a done deal. Dude is going to Minnesota.

He lives there, his best friend is now there long term, Heater is coming off the books, they are primed to win, it makes too much sense not to happen.

Outside of the complete animosity that Darcy has for Edmonton over the previous Vanek offer sheet...why would Edmonton take a goaltender and star winger that they likely have no chance in signing long term after this season? Are they winning now?

As a Buffalo fan, Vanek is, in my opinion, not the guy to build around. I think he would be great in Minny, where he wouldn't have to be THE guy. He just doesn't have the DNA, so to speak, to lead a group of men to victory...despite his freakish talent.

Here's the one guy that dreams of playing in Buffalo. Make it happen!
Posted Thursday August 29, 2013, About: Vanek: Never said 'I don't want to be here'
He would probably like that, but there won't be any cap space after you sign Heater to his well-earned 8 year extension.

Thanks for letting me know that the Sabres declared bankruptcy. I didn't know that.

You can bash Buffalo all you want, but the team you root for is a joke. I just can't wait for them to miss the playoffs again. That's going to be rich.
Posted Thursday February 21, 2013, About: What the Sabres can expect from Rolston
Right. Bankrupt. Terry Pegula and his $3 billion are probably just fine, I would guess.

I don't mind that Toronto fans come down--because when the sad Laff fans come to the games, they usually ride back up the QEW losers.

The fact that Toronto is the center of the hockey universe and the Leafs have been so bad for so long is hilarious, really.

Puts you on a higher perch? Which Cup winning team did you play on?
Posted Thursday February 21, 2013, About: What the Sabres can expect from Rolston
1967...three years before the Sabres even existed. I hope that you're at least 55 so you can have at least a shred of a chance to remember that year.

No Laffs fan has any right to trash talk...except maybe to the Blue Jackets.

Wait, the Thrashers folded? Winnipeg is going to be VERY disappointed to hear this.

I disagree. Now Briere is past his prime (turns 35 soon) and Drury was a baby in CO.

While I agree that they were not the top centers in the league if you were building a fantasy team, they were #1s in their prime.

Best Buffalo has produced except for Briere/Drury
