Beasley would be a better choice. Wade always has the ball in his hand, and they aren't going to resign marion next year, so a dynamic low post/anywhere scorer would be his best compliment.
Worst case is they are too scared to trade potential, then the potential busts, and they end up like Chicago.
I guess they are positioning themselves for the lottery now.
Even if he doesn't mesh in the starting lineup this year, he could be one hell of a sixth man while the lakers keep Odom at the starting 4 spot (assuming Gasol doesn't wine about it)
