Nice how the Hendrick organization (almost) all came together to help Martin win a championship. I guess the classless people within the organization felt that their own 4-peat overshadowed the significance and class of what Mr. Hendrick was trying to say at that press conference last fall. Perhap Chad did offer Martin some "help" but Mark told him "No way, man, I already lost a championship or two because of questionable points penalties, thank you very much."

I guess it's the lesser of two evils if Auto Club Speedway's going to have two dates...better than the labor day weekend race (the old "Southern 500" date) being there. Personally I'd rather see them at Sonama twice--once in the chase--than Fontana, but that's just me.

What do you call a bunch of "high profile" lawyers buried up to their necks in ****?
Posted Wednesday September 16, 2009, About: Dark days for Sadler
Yeah, Mayfield had such great luck there in the #19 after being at least halfway decent in the #12 Penske car... How could he pass that up?
Posted Friday September 04, 2009, About: Frisbee faulted for Edwards injury
Great Pen, now to get that stupid NES Duck Hunt music (and the dog's annoying laugh) out of my head. Still have my original console, along with that game and the zapper gun, too!!! Always funny to watch the 3 year old play it with the gun about 4 inches from the TV... :-)

p.s. as of 10:15, the Duck/Cougar smackdown is still there!
Posted Thursday September 03, 2009, About: Keselowski key to Penske expansion?
Well that certainly explains why Ambrose's car still has a yellow stripe (and no, it's not part of the "Little Debbie" paint scheme). So I'm thinking that either (a) they must be letting him break a NASCAR rule by still running the stripe since he raced 11 races last year, or (b) gee, maybe you're the one who doesn't know the rules. NASCAR determines if you're a still considered a "rookie" and have to run with the stripe - the Rookie of the Year eligibility is restricted to those drivers amongst the rookies with no more than 7 races under their belt going into the season.

p.s. Hey Shave, I could swear your handle used to start with the word 'Don't'? Why the change of heart? (if you can keep it clean - LOL)
Posted Sunday July 12, 2009, About: Double-file restarts causing confusion
I believe they were single file early in the race if there were no lapped cars. Also, within the last ten laps or so, the restarts were single file with the lapped cars at the rear. Remember the "tail end of the longest line" penalty - if 10 cars were lapped, you would be at the back of the lead lap line, but late in a race like Bristol, there might only be 18 cars on the lead lap, so you were likely to be behind the lapped cars, even if you were on the lead lap yourself.
Posted Thursday July 09, 2009, About: Stewart: No hard feelings after crash
Back to comment 23 - something like that is what JR needed at 'tona!!!

p.s. isn't "INSIGNIA" just Best Buy's "Store Brand" of electronics? Anyone had any luck with that brand? (and by "luck" I mean good luck)

At least not affected anymore since Ford and Firestone parted ways over the SUV tire debacle.
Posted Wednesday December 17, 2008, About: Keselowski confident of '09 sponsorship
Something about the perspective or something in this picture reminded me of the cars.com "Plan B" commercial - hee hee

"Hey, Jay, can I take off? I got a tiny head"

He can turn a few bucks renting them out for testing ;-)
Posted Monday December 01, 2008, About: Penske backing Hornish next year
Yes, "he" finished 35th in points, but what the Charlotte Observer failed to "Observe" (gee, this isn't the first time...) is that the TEAM finished 38th (because some teams above 38th in OWNER points didn't have the same driver for every single race).

So unless Penske pulls more shenanigans with the moving around of owner points (and Busch won't be the most recent champion not in the top 35...that goes to the Stewart/Haas #14 now), he'll have to make the show the old fashioned way, which he failed to do at Homestead.

They'll have their work cut out for them for sure. He missed two races after falling out of the top 35 before Richmond. And how many of those races, including Richmond, did he get a free pass because qualifying was rained out?.......
Posted Friday November 28, 2008, About: 'Paranoia' made Gibbs crew chief cheat
Close, but they got the song title wrong (Paranoia) - it's actually called "Detroyer" and it's by The Kinks...probably heard voices in the lyrics that made him cheat.

(sorry, verrrry obscure twist on the old Charles Manson/Helter Skelter defense...for anybody old enough to remember who either one of those were... hee hee)

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and successful "Black Friday" if you were so inclined to partake in that annual madness!!!
Posted Friday November 21, 2008, About: Hendrick 'disappointed' in Junior's finish
Me too, but it'd be nice if the commercial of him doing those burnouts/doughnuts in a cul de sac (driving a Corvette, I think), saying he's "celebrating his latest victory", didn't actually refer to the 2007 Daytona 500. I mean, winning the 500 is a big deal and all, but they need to drop the commercial next year unless he actually wins another race. IMHO.
Posted Friday November 21, 2008, About: Kvapil, Parrott splitting at Yates Racing
I'm thinking Todd just HAS to be burned out by this point. Probably better if he doesn't want to crew chief long term that they get someone in that can be around awhile and build some chemistry...I see Yates making a comeback if they can get the sponsors and continue the Rousch alliance.

p.s. "Firsties!!!" ;-)
