Ovechkin better than Crosby? haha. Not a chance. There is just no way.

obnoxious? I hardly think so. Confident? Now thats something i can agree with. Us Penguins fans have been waiting for a very long time for a team this talented to come back to Pittsburgh. And there is no reason we should not be proud and confident in knowing that we have one of the best teams in the NHL, and we will have one of the best teams in the NHL for years to come.

all of the anamosity towards Pittsburgh. Just goes to show we are doing something right

mrzippy bringing back the "cindy".. classy! Roberts knew he wasnt going to get 2million a year, so he left. Conklin knew he had no chance of starting, so he left for a team where he has a better chance of playing more, I think the loss on Ruutu was mgmt's fault, Malone wanted too much money, and well we already know the Hossa situation. So you tell me zippy, where does Crosby **** people off fit in that equation?

"shitsburgh" that is original. Did you come up with that one by yourself? I am impressed, hooray for you!! And we're classless... way to make a point. As far as this dynasty being done, I have to respectfully disagree. We still have the majority of our "core" together. The only thing we really lack is a top 6 winger, and i believe that they will put Jordan Staal on the wing with Malkin next year and try to mold him into a similar spot Malone filled. Although there are no exceptional wingers left in the draft, really, we do have plenty of defensmen we can trade to get a decent winger to play with Cros. Don't rule us out just yet, we're still the team to beat in the East

At the same time Hossa has said his top choice would be going to Detroit and I believe Zetterberg and some others are UFA's next season, maybe they will than decide who deserves the big money. I don't think Detroit will repeat next year though, seabird.

I'm thinking, they signed Hossa to a one year deal to give him a full taste of Red Wings hockey, city etc and than try to sign him again after that to a longer deal worth less money

It's official. unreal.

TSN reports that Malone got a 7 year deal worth 31.5 million. Expected to earn between 7 to 8 million in each of his first 2 years, which means he'll be making around 3.3 a year the following 5 years
Posted Sunday June 08, 2008, About: Hossa may favor Pens return
If he wants to stay with the Pens, Hossa should sign a 2 or 3 year 10-15$mill deal. The Pens wrap up long term with Malkin and Staal, I'd say atleast 5 years, each. malkin will command some $9mill a year and you can sign Staal for $2.5-3.5mill. All of this revolves around the restricted free agent in Fleury, the Pens will have to atleast match the offers he is going to receive and I would imagine teams are going to be willing to offer a lot for a good goaltender at a young age. Orpik in my opinion should be signed before Malone, Dupuis, Ruutu, or any of the other role playing UFA's, simply because he's our biggest hitting D-man, he's good with the puck and a strong skater. Therrien will be around again next year, and than i look for Shero to get someone he wants behind the bench, unless we win the cup in 08-09.
