I think when Duncan had his sports hernia operated on the Dr. cut his berries off. That guy went from being a legit power hitter to a bigger uglier version of Greg Jefferies.

TLR has always been big on a good defensive team. Izturis, Kennedy, Miles, & Ryan has done a pretty good job defensively this year and I believe that's why they aren't looking for a middle infielder right now. I agree, I would like to see them pick up a middle infielder that can produce a little more offensively too. The Cards were looking for another right handed bat protection for Albert but a good lefty out of the bullpen is what we really need right now.

The Cards need help in the bullpen as well as acquiring another big bat behind Albert. The starting pitching may not have gone much over 6 innings but they have been holding their own. I don't know how many low scoring games we have lost this year but the runners left on base in all those games were very high. I'm personally tired of seeing 10 to 15 runners left on.
I would like to see a good bat added like Holliday. I really don't think Jason Bay would fill in very well because he strikes out a lot too. We need a guy who hits for average as well as power. Hollidays splits right now are over .300. If they want to make a good run in the second half they had better do something now before it really slips out of reach.

Okay, so we all knew this one has been lingering out there for awhile. I'm not going to go all out Omaar style though. I do have to agree to some extent with the headline. With all the ridicule we took last year about Ankiel you would think that upper management could have smelled this one a mile away. I think these active guys, that were proven guilty, need a fine or suspension of some sort to show that these type of things are serious and not allowed in baseball. This sport has become ridiculous when it comes to the "roids" thing. Someone needs to set an example. I mean come on were probably at least a third or fourth place team in our division.

Is everyone missing the point? The rule is in place...follow it or sit on the bench...why is this so difficult...and WHY is it such a big deal...what does wearing a helmet stop coaches from doing, exactly?

I agree EastCoastKeith. Last year had enough turmoil with alcohol related problems. It kinda feels like crap, here we go again!!! I'm really glad they released him. With the substance abuse thing last year we know this man has problems. It just sucks that they still have to pay for his contract this year and a buy out for 09.
