Was just looking at the ticker, Boise reconsidering Big east move, thinking Mountain West. Would just like to point out how pathetic it is at the point that they haven't been able to shoe-horn themselves into the Big 12 or the Pac 12...they bitched endlessly through the Kellen Moore years about being left in the cold. Nowadays everybody and their mother is getting invited to the dance and yet somehow they still can't get a sniff from anybody.

Before the Boise apologists start, I'm just going to point out that there's NO EXCUSE for a program that sees themselves as elite and poised to become big time NOT being able to work out something that would allow their school to move into a position to be legit. Yes, I understand that Maryland and Rutgers are situated close to large markets, but neither of those franchises draws particularly well and neither of them has any real foothold in the market they are linked to. On the flip side, Boise is a small market, but even as a small market playing in an irrelevant conference, they have gotten more serious national airtime than those other programs put together. Before losing Petterson, perhaps they should scrap the blue turf and hire an AD that can get a legit move signed, sealed & delivered.

Posted Friday November 02, 2012, About: Strangest chapter yet in CHLPA tale
Starting school at 21 after being out of it since 16. yeah, that makes tons of sense. Why not just have a more realistic game and travel schedule and organize it with different institutions to have more realistic course opportunities? Its absolutely mind boggling how some people just dont see the ridiculousness of junior major hockey in canada. Only a very small handful of players ever make it, so why not encourage the league to run their organizations as what they are, YOUTH development teams, NOT pro teams.

Why not limit the player movement from junior to tier 2 leagues, creating 1 or 2 windows in the year where players can be moved around, thus created some sort of stability for the kids playing there.

How about reforming the schedule so that the players have a break during final exams?

How about pooling together resources and setting travel standards so that rides over X number of kms would require flights. When you have teams in the far corners of the country, its unrealistic to expect them to pick up travel costs all by themselves if you are going to mandate air travel, but it could very easily be paid for if all teams would contribute a bit. Some of the teams have absolutely horrid travel schedules. The kids essentially live on buses.

How about giving 16-17 year olds a little say in where they go and who they play for?

the panthers suck. one decent season won't change that.
Posted Thursday December 15, 2011, About: Lakers fuming over Paul trade
Howard's value has inevitably gone up since Paul is off the market...

Ummm...I'm a hockey guy, not a basketball guy, so I will need some clarification on this...don't they play different positions and offer your team completely different things on the court? I never understood why Paul would supposedly make the Lakers so much better, especially with the type of players (big bodies?) that they were offering to get rid of. Nor do I see why another team that has an interest in Paul would suddenly change course & decide that Howard is the player that they so desperately need.

Someone please comment on this from a tactical perspective...

Posted Tuesday July 26, 2011, About: He's back? Yashin working out on Long Island
He's assembled the best crop of young players in the entire league. He has the respect of Wang, which is a tall order. People that actually know hockey see the moves that he makes and they recognize that he's a great gm.

One of the two had to play most of his adult life in europe just to earn a buck, meanwhile, DiPietro earned himself a 15 year contract with his stellar play. Snow knows what he's doing. As soon as DiPietro is healthy he will be the best goalie in the league for years to come.
