Posted Monday May 20, 2013, About: Mattingly won't last the week
Mattingly didn't make the idiot trade with Boston. He didn't trade for Hanley or sign Greinke. Perhaps a different manager might get more out of the Dodgers collection of chronically under performing "stars," but I doubt it.

No employee at a PUBLIC university should earn more than $200K per year.
Posted Friday May 10, 2013, About: Ainge: 'Doc is always unsure'
The guy whose future should be unsure is Ainge. He has refused (and continue to do so) to make the tough decisions needed to build a championship team.

Trading KG and Pierce is not an option. No team is going to take on Pierce's $16 million salary or the two years owed Garnett. They should both be encouraged to retire.
Posted Wednesday May 08, 2013, About: Billups aims for at least two more seasons
Why would any team waste time and money on a 37 year old guy who shoots 40% and has only played 20 games in each of the past two years? The fiascos of Kidd and Nash should be a warning about ancient guards in the NBA.
Posted Monday May 06, 2013, About: Why Nets may not get their wish
Tom Thibodeau is a great coach. Spoelstra is the next Phil Jackson - coaching a team so talented he can't screw it up (but he did the first season). Jackson is never going to coach any of these desperate teams - and risk being exposed for the over rated phony he is. Why do you think he left the Lakers when he did? The Nets are a collection of "stars" who can't play team basketball.
Posted Monday May 06, 2013, About: Dolphins future 'bleak' in Miami
Hooray for common sense and the rights of taxpayers! Not another dime of public money to build, renovate or maintain facilities for teams owned by billionaires with multi-millionaire athletes. Let the fans who attend games pay for the cost of the stadium if they choose to do so. But the rest of us should not subsidize those owners, players and fans. They are already stealing billions from the public through cable and satellite fees - it is estimated that as much as 50% of what we pay for those services is ultimately attributable to sports. I love sports - but I - and everyone else should have the CHOICE of whether or not we want to pay for them.
Posted Friday May 03, 2013, About: Ainge: C's face 'very hard' decision on Pierce
This is a hard decision that should have been made a year ago. The good news for the Celtics - not being in the draft lottery this season does not mean they are missing out on any sure thing players. Time to blow this team up and rebuild. But first they need to crush the Knicks (and NYC) - both mentally and physically.
Posted Wednesday May 01, 2013, About: J.R. Smith on Jason Terry: 'Who?'
Way to back up your mouth JR - 3 for 14. This mouthy punk is a liability wherever he goes.
Posted Wednesday May 01, 2013, About: Josh Hamilton is becoming Ryan Howard
The problem is that Hamilton is not a Superstar. He is an erratic, streaky hitter. The Angels are paying him like he is one of the elite players in the game. He would have been far better off taking a reasonable offer from the Rangers and staying in Texas. It is going to get real ugly in Anaheim for Pujols and Hamilton - and Angels fans.
Posted Monday April 29, 2013, About: Sanchez hasn't asked for trade ... yet
Trade? You're talking about a trade? No team is going to take on that contract. Just as no team was going to trade for Tebow - because they knew the Jets would release him eventually. The Jets got their miracle from Tampa when they were bailed out of Revis.

I would expect the Jets to keep Sanchez around at least until they see Geno play a few games. Smith is not exactly a sure thing.
Posted Monday April 29, 2013, About: Howard will explore free agency
Any team that gives Howard a max contract is run by fools. He is not a superstar. He cannot carry a team - heck he can't even make a team competitive. The Lakers need to tear it down and build from scratch.
Posted Saturday April 27, 2013, About: Report: Raptors making run at Phil Jackson
No way Jackson takes any job where he is exposed as the over rated fraud he is. If the Heat or OKC came calling he might take those jobs. Otherwise - not a chance.
Posted Monday April 22, 2013, About: Dalembert: Heat 'an option' in free agency
If he wants to play for the Heat he better plan on a million bucks a year.
Posted Monday April 22, 2013, About: Revis camp blasts Jets, Cromartie burns after trade
Another T&R written by Revis agent. Why is he whining if this was such a good deal for him? Maybe because the big, strong receivers in the NFC South will quickly expose Revis for the over rated player he is? It was a sweet deal for Revis when all he had to do was hold Welker's jersey every play. The Bucs are the most dysfunctional organization in the NFL. $16 million for a guy who plays cornerback? Who is useless on running plays and short passes. LMAO!
The Bucs obsession with Revis is example number one of why this organization is dysfunctional and headed towards years of wallowing in last place. They are hardly one cornerback from being competitive - even if Revis was healthy and as good as HE thinks he is. They are going to give up their draft this year - and to placate Revis have to commit ridiculous money to him.

The good news for football fans - once out of NYC we won't have to read about Revis constantly as he fades into obscurity - notable likely as one of the worst trades in NFL history.
Posted Monday April 15, 2013, About: Michigan waiting for three more shoes to drop
I can't imagine any of that three being drafted in the first round. McGary is an utter stiff.
Posted Monday April 15, 2013, About: Pujols barely able to run to first
Between Hamilton and Pujols the Angels have buried themselves for the next decade. Wait until they are faced with having to offer a huge contract to Trout.
Posted Sunday April 14, 2013, About: Signs point to Bucks' Ellis opting out
$11 million for a small, too light guard who shoots 41% from the floor? Another example of the NBA becoming garbage basketball.

The Avs must clean house at the end of the season. Everyone goes in the front office - and Sacco too.
Posted Sunday April 07, 2013, About: Marlins expect dismal crowd for home opener
I cannot understand why anyone would pay to see the AA team Loria has assembled. It is time MLB steps in and forces him out as owner. After all - they gave him the team in the first place.
Posted Sunday April 07, 2013, About: Ex-FCC commissioners: Redskins name is 'indecent'
Just rename them the more appropriate "Washington Bloodsuckers." Maybe get a Twilight tie-in.

Normally I don't agree with the PC types, but "redskins" is definitely a slur, unlike the Braves, Chiefs, Indians, etc.
