Does Coach Stoops still have any relatives who still live in Youngstown, Ohio? I know his father has passed on but what about his mother and maybe siblings? Aren't two of his brothers in Arizonia? Indiana is closer to Ohio than Oklahoma. This may be a considering factor separate from the politics of college football.

I still say all Hawkins has to do to ensure his remaining at Colorado for the next year or more is to beat Nebraska this year. I sincerely hope that NEVER happens cause I always want the Huskers to pulverize the Buffs every year.
Posted Sunday November 15, 2009, About: Next 3 games to decide Weis' future
Who the "bleep" cares if Weis remains as ND's coach or not. Haven't they had one of the top recruited classes annually in Weis' era and they still are producing like this?
I just don't see the attraction for all of these articles about this has been college program.
Will the next article be about Weis' sneezing?
Posted Saturday October 31, 2009, About: Colorado's Hawkins on hot seat
All Hawkins has to do to assure job security for the next 3 years is to beat Nebraska. Sure hope that does not happen cause I want Nebraska to win. But the buff fans will forgive and forget a coach for a lot if he brings the Buffs a victory against their "arch rival". Heck if that happens Colorado will put up another billboard with the score for the next two years.

Just hope the current fans give Coach Pelini the same chance that was given to Dr. Tom. The natives are hopping mad over on the Husker blog I check out. I posted a more positive comment about supporting our young men and coaches and not just giving out harsh comments, like they know it all, and got roasted. But Coach Tom took a while before the National Championships began to come in. It will take a while to build this football program back up.
I would like to see the North become stronger and some are showing glimpses but nothing consistent yet.

Van, you got us pegged.I'd put it God, Kids and Cornhusker Football, but that's just me. About you earlier comment on Frank Solich, there were a lot of fans that did not like what happened and were quiet vocal about it. Anyone following Coach Osborn would have had an impossible task. TO spoiled us and we didn't even know it until he was gone.
Posted Saturday October 24, 2009, About: Will Big 12 realign divisions?
#25, thanks for the "fire", we could always use more. I really want the Huskers to get back to where they were and even surpass the past. Lets hope Pelini gets us there. Sure like our new coach's attitude. He gave the media and fans hell for talking down his coaches and players. We fans had become spoiled from Osborne with his excellent win\loss record. We used to think that a 12\0 or a 11\1 season was winning and that a 10\2 was breaking even an that a 9\3 was a losing season. I sure hope we have grown up from that mind set.
Posted Saturday October 24, 2009, About: Will Big 12 realign divisions?
#21, yeah, the Big 12 is not having a good year and I agree that Boise State may not beat the teams you listed but at least they would finally have more ranked teams to compete with.
As far as Colorado I'm just tired or their pissing , gripping and extreme bad attitude.
Posted Saturday October 24, 2009, About: Will Big 12 realign divisions?
# 16, NU is now being rebuilt. This is not a quick fix and is going to take a little more time to get us back to where this program once was.
Now as far as Colorado being the arch "rivals" of the Huskers, I laugh at that. All Colorado has ever been was a spoiler and an almost never been. I say almost because didn't the Buffs win a National Championship once as opposed to Missouri who has always been a spoiler and has never had a National Championship.
Realignment: How about letting Colorado switch places with Boise State, then Boise State could have a legitimate claim to a BCS bowl if they win the Big 12 championship game.
Posted Sunday September 13, 2009, About: Hawkins feeling heat in Colorado
Hawkins is sounding a lot like Bill Callahan when he was giving excuses for the losses that the Huskers were racking up. It was NEVER his poor coaching or his staff. The article I read over on Ralphie Reports quoted Hawkins saying :"I know this: Inside our program we're doing things right".
As far as his son, Cody. That kid is doing the best he is able to do and working very hard. However it may have been better for Cody if he had gone to a different school.

Would any of those restricted schools even take this whiner? After seeing their bowl game, LSU seems to have found their QB, don't know how Lane would take to a left over QB from U M and if Tebow returns Florida doesn't need him.
I think the Marves' have been caught out in their story of wanting the kid to be closer to an ailing Dad. LSU and Tenn are just a wee bite further than Miami and the Gators don't need him. I think Robbie is acting likea prima donna.

#2 Pianoman,
I don't know about the rest of the Big 12 schools but Coach Pelini makes any of his players who are tardy or absent from class take a 6:oo am run with him. The first week of school last spring Pelini and his staff were in the classes to see if the players were there on time. He takes the academic side of college seriously.
Posted Saturday December 27, 2008, About: How Georgia kept coach from Auburn
Wise decision from Searels. The coaching staff put together by Chizik may not have a very long life. Hope I'm wrong and Chizik is a success. It's nice the other assistant coaches get the benefit of a boost from Searels being sought after.
Posted Friday December 19, 2008, About: Mike Stoops linked to Iowa State job
Read on some blog that it would be poetic justice if ISU got Tubberville to be head coach. He could accomplish more than his assistant Chizik did.
I would love to see the B12 North become stronger and not remain the weak step child of the B12 conference. And of course being a Husker I want NU to be 1st with the others taking alternate runs as B12 North champs on our off year.
Posted Wednesday December 17, 2008, About: Barkley pushed Auburn to hire Gill
#65 Ramblin, you listed some impressive facts about Chizik . What do you mean that Gill can not make the claim about a Nat'l Championship? Coach Gill has 3 Nat'l Champioships under his coaching belt. Just go to Wikipedia and see that Coach Gill has a resume` that is more impressive than yours of Chizik's minus the SEC ties.
Posted Saturday December 13, 2008, About: Iowa State coach linked to Auburn job
Could this be because anyone of quality skills has turned them down? All these good coaches rumored to have been interviewed may be just practicing up on their job interview and resume` skills?
This whole fiasco reminds me of the botched up mess that Steve Pederson, the former AD from Nebraska, made of hiring of a head coach for Nebraska football after firing Solich who had just finished a 9-3 season. Wonder if Auburn's new coach will be a repeat of that infamous hire of Bill Callahan that broke all sorts of records in reverse and put us in the tank. Thank the football gods for Tom Osborne returning to Nebraska as AD and the hiring of Bo Pelini, the Huskers are finally back on the right track.
Posted Saturday December 01, 2007, About: Sources: Nebraska to hire Pelini
We shall know when Dr. Osborne calls a presser and make the announcement. Thanks to all of you other fans that have given well wishes for the Nebraska football program to become successful again.
