Being an alcoholic wouldn't make him a troubled kid. From all accounts, he comes from a good family. All of his legal troubles have been alcohol related. We had a two term president last decade that had similar run-in's with the law in his 20's and 30's.

I don't see the Rays trading Hellickson. He is years away from being arbitration eligible, so he is costing them nothing.

Cute...and dead wrong. Crawford hit .305 and .307 the last two seasons. Victorino has never hit above .300 in a season. This year Crawford hit 19 HRs, had 90 RBI and stole 47 bases. And Crawford OPS is 100 points higher than Victorino's.

So he is more like a faster black Victorino with a better bat and more power.

I blame a poor offense that was masked all year by good baserunning and excellent pitching. The pitching started to falter at the end of the year. Only Price and Wade Davis were reliable starters down the stretch. Alot of Rays success was smoke and mirrors. Have you ever seen a good team with a lack of players hitting over .300? Carlos Pena was under .200.

I am a Rays fan and can't blame him. He is the premier free agent this offseason. He will be wined and dined like few ballplayers have. He should try to get every penny he can. My hope was that he would end up in the NL but I don't see it happening.
