I am going to qualify that last comment about coaches and egos. It is much the same way when people talk about politicians to me and try to say one guy is better than the other. I say they are all pieces of ****. Looks what they do to their families. Nice guys ? Really ? Their kids, in a lot of cases, aren't even in their teens and their lives are over, with constant supervision and subject to tabloid and media scrutiny and why ? Because their parent thought so highly of themselves that THEY had the answers to the world's problems.
Translation - Obama, Bush, Clinton etc etc = all of them are pieces of trash for subjecting their children to that kind of lifestyle.
You don't need to know people personally to determine that. A coach = someone who believes HE/SHE has the answers = ego maniac. There are none who are worse than the other; the only true difference is the level of pomposity from coach to coach.
The beuaty of hidsight is we can probably say it was Belichick, not Parcells, who was most instrumental, as he has been to 5 SBs in 12 years on the HC job in NE and has been there 8 times in total counting his time as Parcells' assistant.
I'll beat this dead horse some more - have someone beat the SEC in a game that matters on a consistent basis. When those schools do that, they will become the standard bearer.
This nonsense reminds me of the early 2000s when Bill Pilian, then GM of the Colts and member of the competition comittee, lobbied to redefine the rules because his teams could not win within the framework in place.
Right, because UF is such a modern, progressive place. It's not like they chase away people of darker complexion then smear them when that person excels and the Opie-type replacement is a disaster ie chasing away Came Newton in favor of John "The Human Kleenex" Brantley.
Look at these loser have nots complaining about smart business decisions, calling them cheats etc.
Maybe when you hand to mouthers actually start earning enough to contribute to a retirement plan, you'll find yourself in a position to put the credits against either of two tax years. At that point, hopefully you'll have a moral dilemma about cheating. After all, the Sox (and every other team that does it) are apparently cheaters for not wanting to finance another team; you'd be neglecting to help out a human being via tax paid social services.
While I detest pro football QBs aka glorified dart players, Manning and Brees, sheltered as they are, know a hell of a lot more than the sausage eating suit.
Good way to make your team appealing to a QB dumb*ss.
Perhaps he's referring to the fact that the Florida powers that be had fun running his offense and winning titles, but then shoved the bed-sh*tter down his throat.
Come on. They're not trading him. They're gonna let him pitch the year in a contract year. Hopefully has a good walk year. Then they'll offer him arbitration and let him walk to gather some draft picks for him to replenish the farm after the Agon trade.
That's what Esptein does - let's the marquee old guys walk, brings in some high valued rentals and lets them walk, scooping draft picks for them.
First off, the fell behind against their archest of arch rivals on the road.
The measure of greatness is to overcome adversity I can't think of anything more adverse than falling behind by 20+ points on the road at your most hated rival's house.
Regarding the d stat rankings, they are skewed. Because they run a fast break offense, the defense faces more plays.
Their YPP allowed isn't all that bad, especially when you consider 4th quarter prevent defenses vs 2 minutes offenses.
Translation - Obama, Bush, Clinton etc etc = all of them are pieces of trash for subjecting their children to that kind of lifestyle.
I love when people say nonsense like this, as though they know people personally.
Newsflash - everyone in the coaching profressio is an ego maniac. That's why they chose that profession in the first place.
Have we forgotten that the team he won his SB against (Raiders) is a team he built ?
If not for the tuck vs NE he might well have won a SB with the Raiders as well.
He's a good coach who did get carried away in his own self like Mike Shanahan did.
More SEC hating whiners.

I am sure the kid is a real prize, with a father like that.
Since when is the PNW climate considerate "northern?"
When people say "northern" and "southern" they are referring more to climate than geographical location.
And the disparity in taxes plays a part.
In reality, his agent probably didn't want him to DH because of salary ranges for positions.
Regardless, Ortiz has protection again with baserunners in front of him.
In the steroid free era, catchers don't usually last much longer than 32 as productive hitters.

Same thing with Oklahoma in 2008.
Would have had ?
Because this has already happened ?
