I see that.................*laffin*......didn't take him/her long to delete my response. Someone must have poured wet concrete in their Cheerios this morning.

Yes, it has been awhile 45........wasn't it 40 before?.............nevertheless, it is good to see you again as well.
Oh this is sooooooo cool...............every comment deleted, and the spam lives on!.......This one will be next, I'm sure.
The thing is, Orton did better than expected, considering that he hadn't been in a live game in over 2 years. He TRIED, but it was the "same ol' same ol'" that has been biting the Cowboys for quite some time. All the Romo haters likely said it was Romo's fault anyway, regardless.

I don't blame Orton. I blame Jones, Carrot, and play calling in no particular order. They kept getting away from the run game in the 2nd half of games.........why? Esp. when it was working. Those are the problems, not Orton's interception.

The 'Greatest Generation' is slowing going away. I too was in the Navy. Shake your dad's hand for me, and tell him "Thank you for your service, Shipmate!" I shake hands with a lot of vets when I go to the VA clinic or hospital in Houston...I take time out to do as many as I can.

My pleasure. And, I'm glad you did.

One of the things I do nowadays is, when I go to Wal Mart, or wherever, I usually have to ride one of their scooter things. My leg tends to go out on me at the most inopportune times. I see other folks (usually older) riding those things, and I will come up next to them and ask if they want to race.....they smile and sometimes laugh, and we get into a short conversation. It's well worth seeing them smile.

My wife used to tell me "Would you quit that?!?!", and I tell her no. She finally quit saying anything, and just walks off.....You never know how much you can make someone's day just by simply talking to them.

Those of you who still have parents.....you should be in touch with them as much as possible. I lost my mom in 1995 at the age of 58 (I'm now 58) and my dad in 2008 at the age of 75. How he managed to live another 13 years w/o mom, I don't know.
But, I do know this. Life is never the same w/o your parents, no matter how old you are. Appreciate them while you can. I know I'd do a lot of things different if mine were still alive.

Ripper;
Being a Navy vet, if I was there, I'd shake your dad's hand and THANK him for his service. My condolences to you and your family when the time comes.....The Greatest Generation is coming to a close, and if it weren't for these men and women, we might be talking German or Japanese now.

Remember this.....Don't be sad when it's over, but be happy that it happened....meaning having a great dad. I don't know what else to say, but your dad has my gratitude, as does all vets.

Truer words were never spoken. And, as long as the fan base believes this snake oil salesman, he will continue to do the Scrooge McDuck thing, and roll around in his vault, tossing his money all over himself.
I'm actually surprised that the stadium is not named after him...........maybe when AT&T's contract runs out, it will.
Yeah.......those two I mentioned came to mind first. They almost beat Denver tho. The others were embarrassments.

Hahaha........and the worst thing about it is, he don't think people are laughing at him. His subordinates likely aren't, but the fan base likely are. I just shake my head at his inane statements and his ineptitude.
Posted Tuesday December 31, 2013, About: When this season is over in two weeks...
I think the "What Next..?" question would be better asked once Jerry either retires, dies, or becomes incoherent. Now, I'm not wishing for the man to die, or become incoherent mind you, but retiring and becoming hands off would be great and wonderful. That's not going to happen in the foreseeable future. However, IF his son Stephen follows the same path as dear ol' dad, then all I can say is if our "wishes were horses, beggars would ride".....

All we can do at this point is time, is wait and see what Stephen will do, when the time comes, and get ready for more mediocrity.

The Cowboys best year since Aikman and company, was 2007, I think it was. The Vacation Year. 13 - 3, which should have been 15-1. But, vacations was too important, and we know how that turned out. I doubt Jerry will ever field another team over 500, but if he does, it likely won't go very far, IF they ever make the playoffs again.

Just my 2 cents.
Thanks, GnG...........What a time for a "return" huh?

You're quite right. He's going to be "right" no matter how much it makes him look like a fool. He showed me his foolishness long ago.
Posted Tuesday December 31, 2013, About: Who is jerry jones going to dump first
Unfortunately, you're probably right. I used to get kinda upset when the Cowboys lost, but now I can just turn over and go to sleep, esp. on late games. On early games, I just change to another game.

In my opinion, Parcells tried. But, he got really tired of Jerry. Can you blame him? Not me. Not many will work for Jones, other than those who like being a "yes boy".
Posted Tuesday December 31, 2013, About: this sums it up pretty well.
I see no crying. Just facts stated is all.
Hey Mike!...Yeah, I decided to see what was going on. I about forgot about FN, actually. Used to be my home page, but it got changed, and I got involved with Facebook and other endeavors............and FN kinda took a back seat this year.
I also thought 7-9, but never.........never in my wildest dreams would I see them get bulldozed like the Saints did to them, or the Bears..........not even a comeback like the Packers. I know the injuries were too much to absorb, but every team has injuries.

Jerry is getting his just desserts for not allowing Ryan to finish, for one thing..........not that I cared much for Ryan, but c'mon. This defense was worse than any Ryan put out there.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. And, Jones seems to be the epitome of insanity. It's his way or the highway.

8-8 (or less) will likely be the record for quite some time. Their best year was the "vacation year"......Cabo, ect... They could have been 15-1, but decided vacations were more important, and ended up 13-3, and one and done in the playoffs. Jones had his chance..........now, he's getting the results of his ineptitude.
Posted Tuesday December 31, 2013, About: So why was this game different....? Or was it?
Good morning, everyone............I thought I would return and see how many disappointed Cowboys fans were still here.

The main problem with our Cowboys is.....and I've been saying this for years............is Jerry Jones, the GM. Plain and simple. UNTIL he retires, goes away, or gets a real GM, these problems will only continue. Say what you want about Romo, but he did NOT lose that game. He didn't even play.

But, his over inflated ego won't allow him to do that. So, expect more 8-8 (or less) seasons. Plain and simple.
