EZ....I'm beat. I've put about 2300 miles on my new truck.......in a week........I've got to get some rest......I'm not as young as I used to be, but we'll chat again, I'm sure.
Appreciate the sentiments, EZ..........He and I had good times fishing.....
Wellsir, I think that only time will tell. I'm not surprised they got a 3rd round center in the first round, and traded down to get him...........figure that one out......
But, you could draft the highest rated players in college, and if you never play them, how do you know if they will be any good? They have some good players, but they seldom get played, or so far anyway.....
Yeah, I know....but of 90 something people, about 3% will always say something, except on weekends.....I post a lot of funny pics, jokes, and things, to create subjects to talk about, even if it's only for a bit, but most people seem to be weaned on lemons and have no sense of humor.......like my wife.
Man, Jerry Jones.........arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh! I've about given up on this clown ever doing the right thing..............Oh, by the way, the brother in law I just lost was a Bengals fan. Just as the team was getting better, too.
I usually take a sabbatical during the off season, in that I don't do much in FN. It seems to get tougher every year when the Cowboys start looking like a JV team
I also just got back from Illinois (locked the front door..oh boy!). Wife's brother and uncle passed away....man, was that ever a long trip.
I've also been doing Facebook awhile now, but getting really tired of it. I like to chat and those idiots like playing those stupid FB games.....so, I'll be in and out here.................again.
I'd go for it, if for only a year or two, but when he fails, would that be enough to convince him? I kind of doubt that as well, being that his ego is the size of Texas.
IF Jerry will do that. I think he's convinced himself (a long time ago) that what he's doing is the right way............ regardless of whether things prove different or not. In my honest opinion, I doubt we'll see another SB in Jerry's lifetime, but that's just my opinion.
I wouldn't count on it, Mike. If Garrett gets fired, there's another one (pet cat, puppet coach, etc.) waiting for Jerry to find him. The only change I'd welcome is for Jerry to find a real GM, who then would hire his own coach, and then trickle down from there. But, that's highly unlikely.
As long as Jerry is "in charge", I doubt they will myself. They had a golden opportunity during the 07 season, I think it was......the Cabo Vacation Year..........and didn't take advantage of it. But, I've said that before, sooooooooooooooo........
The only thing is, being CLOSE only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades, Jeff. Missing the playoffs by one game each of the past 2 years, they might should have went ahead and lost most of their games. They still missed out regardless of one game or 15.
Since they had money under the cap, then went back above it, I look for some cheapies (and unknowns) in the draft. But, Jerry did it to himself..........and us.......again.
I had to go to my comments to find my board about "Jerry Jones......again". I went 10 pages deep and couldn't find it, so I took a shortcut and bumped it.
Some of these posts remind me of a certain Tim Lumber, or Limber.....whatever his name is. Lots of braggadocio on YKM's part, much like Lumber/Limber. Just different subjects.
Then why is he wanting the credit for when they do, if ever, go back to a SB? Of course they'd have to get there first, then win it. But, the article quoted him much as I did when I started this thread. He WANTS credit, plain and simple.
He knows people credit Johnson for those 3, even if he (Johnson) only coached 2 of them. It was Johnsons's team that won the 3rd even tho Switzer was the coach.
Jerry Jones has enough money to feed the world, but the one thing that eludes him is the CREDIT for creating a SB winning team, which he feels was taken from him by Johnson.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it...............hahahaha
I'm not referring to his stadium, riches, or anything concerning his wealth and how it's distributed. I'm referring to the man himself, and his desires.
From things I've read, I think he's delusional to the point to where he THINKS other people (coaches, for example) are the reason the Cowboys haven't been to the SB, not him. He's already on record saying that if there was a GM there who has done what he's (Jones) done, he'd have been fired a long time ago.
Now, he is wanting the "credit" he feels Johnson took from him back in the day. Thus, all the puppet coaches. I sincerely doubt the Cowboys will ever be in another SB until there's a new GM in place, and NO puppet coach. They may make a playoff game or two here and there, but that's about it.....in my opinion. And, I hope I'm wrong, but that's the way I see it, judging by Jones's actions and words.
People will continue to buy tickets and merchandise, because there's too many wealthy people who have nothing better to do than "party" at Cowboys stadium and be seen. And, there are the fanatics........people who live, breathe and die as a Cowboys fan, regardless. Which is fine, but they also live in a fantasy world thinking that next year is THE year. Every year.
I was a member of several Cowboys groups in Facebook, but got out of them because they're not realistic. You cannot talk to any of them because all they say is stuff to show their "loyalty", and if you show any criticism, then you get spurned and ignored.

Guess we'll see how this season turns out...

You may be right, my friend........but us common folk will likely never know.
Since they had money under the cap, then went back above it, I look for some cheapies (and unknowns) in the draft. But, Jerry did it to himself..........and us.......again.
I looked for it, for my daily dose of Tim Lumber wannabe, but alas poor Yorick! I knew him well and he could not be found............lol

I'm a realist, not a fantasist.
