Truth is, the media has lambased any suspected steroid user whether white, black or hispanic. Palmeiro was lambased in the media and in stadiums. Sammy Sosa had a considerably easier ride. Why? My guess would be that fan favorites and media darlings like McGwire and Sosa were given a little bit of break by people who grew to love them, while snarly, curmudgeons like Palmeiro and Bonds were crucified more based on the content of their character than the colour of their skin.
