And that's true, but even as a fan, I must say, 'what have they done lately?' Jack squat. I have no more faith in Learner as an owner, who brings clown after clown in here. Mangini could do well, but I'm not holding my breath any more.
Posted Wednesday May 06, 2009, About: Why Browns need WR depth
I'm glad ManKok has built depth in the WR front.. it was a glaring need last year, since we'll need viable #2 and #3 options if Braylon "Sir Drops-a-lot" Edwards repeats his 2008 performance. I just wish I felt better about the defense.
Posted Thursday April 30, 2009, About: Sources: Favre had to ask Jets for release twice
Not again. Not another summer of Brett Favre stories...

ManKok, you've got your hands full already. Don't even try to bring Farve into Cleveland. We need to pick a QB that will be here for the next 5+ years... not 1.
Posted Thursday April 23, 2009, About: Browns asking too much for Edwards?
ManKok is going to screw this up.. No way the Giants are going to part with even one starter after the season Ditch Sir Drops-a-lot had last year, with a year left on his deal. Go for their first rounder and a conditional choice next year with first at least second round potential.
Posted Wednesday April 22, 2009, About: Giants eyeing draft-day deal for Edwards?
Trade Sir Drops-a-lot? Sold.

Dump him for a 1st + 4th rounder this year and a conditional pick next year pick with at least second round potential. ManKok is going to foul this up and try to put the thumb screws to the Giants, asking for a Giants starter though. I just hope ManKok can draft. I suppose we'll see.

Well, thats the concern. Westbrook's not 100% and theres no guarantee he will be after TJ. He's not getting any younger.

If the Indians aren't completely decimated by injuries and doing foolish things postion-wise like continuing the Andy Marte experiment after letting him stew for a while in Columbus, they are easily contenders again. Pedro add depth and experience to a starting rotation that could be anchored by 3 question marks, possibly 4 if Fausto can't relax and throw like his break out year two seasons ago. They have enough talent to make the post season, and adding Pedro another experienced arm that wouldn't shirk under post season lights, assuming his body holds up that long.

Come to Cleveland, Pedro! You won't even have to embarass yourself batting, and it's a year when anyone could realistically compete for the AL Central. It'll be fun.

You won't even have to be at the top. All we ask is that you pitch a better game than the rest of the scrubs slugging it out for the bottom 2 on our rotations. I think you can still pitch better than Laffey, Sowers, or Westbrok when he's back from the DL.

You're not getting any younger or less strange, Manny. Boras is going to make you retire a free agent if you're not careful.
Posted Thursday January 22, 2009, About: Browns lay off employees
After the amount of money they threw at Stallworth, I didn't think we had any.
Posted Thursday January 08, 2009, About: Why Browns owner pulled trigger on Mangini
The track record points to no. Se la vi in Cleveland.

Oh well. If we ever did win a another championship in anything relevant, the universe could very well collapse itself. I'd hate to be partially responsable for that.
Posted Thursday January 08, 2009, About: Why Browns owner pulled trigger on Mangini
There's a chance of that. However, Romeo's set the bar pretty low over the past 4 years, so I'll give him a chance to fall on his face first. From our perspective, Tubby turned in 3 miserable seasons, and a 10 win against a pillow soft schedule.

Mangini at least turned in winning records 2 out of 3 seasons in a pretty tough AFC East, regardless of any other baggage. Considering the drudgery we've seen since 1999, I'll give Mangini the benefit of a doubt.

He's not my first choice. Cowher took himself off the market for at least another year, Martyball wants to GM, Parcells is staying warm in Miami. The only clear cut improvement still out there was Shanahan, who might not have even been interested in the job, given the lack of talent, presecence of egos despite lack of success, cap issues, etc. Not sure if Lerner even interviewed Shanahan. But regardless, Mangini has head coaching experience, and can win, regardless of any Spygate baggage.

That's a marked improvement over Romeo Crennel. A sack of potatoes would be too, in my book. My only hope is that Mangini's contract length isn't more than 3 years. I doubt he'd sign for 2, but don't tell me he's got 4+.
Posted Thursday January 08, 2009, About: Why Browns owner pulled trigger on Mangini
Well, I guess he can't be any worse than Romeo.. He has my support pending he giving me a reason to do the contrary.
Posted Wednesday January 07, 2009, About: Browns to interview Eagles GM
He's been around, but he's never had the final say on personnel decisions. Phil Savage had a good eye for talent, but no real leadership. I'm a little reluctant to trust yet another guy who's never really held the reigns before.

Pass... I don't need to see the banjo playing kid from "Deliverance", grown up, running my team.
Posted Tuesday January 06, 2009, About: Mangini looks like Browns' top choice
Not that I'm thrilled about the prospect of hiring this guy, but at least he's posted winning records 2 out of his 3 seasons. That's a pretty big improvement, as Romeo could only win 1 out of 4, and even that was against a pillow soft schedule.

Like I said, I'm not thrilled, but he's an improvement over Romeo.

At this point, I'd dig up Paul Brown, open the casket, and prop it up over the on side lines, because a corpse of a winner would be more inspirational than Romeo ever was.
Posted Monday December 29, 2008, About: Browns owner wants Cowher & Pioli
I really had to wonder about that decision. Millen was an idiot, so he makes a good fall guy for the front office failures over the last several years, but to say that they are going to keep the guys that he worked with on the payroll? That doesn't make any sense.

They have essentially fired the head idiot, and said, "pay no attention to the two idiots behind the curtain." My condolences Lions fans. Cleveland may have stunk it up this year as well, but I think Randy Lerner at least has multiple brain cells to rub together, unlike the entire Ford family.
Posted Monday December 29, 2008, About: Browns owner wants Cowher & Pioli
That would be great, but there's no way we'll get Pioli, unless he wants a real tear down and start from scratch position, which the Cleveland job most certainly is. Half the roster will probably need to go.
Posted Saturday December 27, 2008, About: Browns owner to meet with Crennel
Good riddance. Hopefully this meeting is to discuss if he wants his remaining pay checks in bus tickets and gift cards to Dunkin Donuts.
Posted Tuesday December 23, 2008, About: Reports: Teammate punched Browns' Quinn
I don't care about his face. Just tell me his throwing hand is ok.
Posted Monday December 22, 2008, About: Browns looking to draft lineman
Our line really isn't playing all that bad. Some young talent would really help things along though. Not to mention dumping Shaffer's over priced contract.

We've learned the pain of miscalculating QB depth, not to mention the debacle that is Derek Anderson. Not to mention the struggles of "Drops" Edwards. I don't think he droped any against Cinci though, to his credit, but the Bengals hardly have a secondary worth mentioning.
Posted Friday December 19, 2008, About: Edwards feels unappreciated by Browns fans
He leads the league in drops, makes millions doing so, and we're supposed to be thankful? That's the dumbest thing I've heard since he said we were booing him because he played for Michigan.

He's either trying to force his way out of Cleveland, or he is completely disconnected from reality/
