Quick, someone remind me what he was suspended for:
Was it for taking his stick to someone???s head? NO.
Was it for attacking another player from behind and driving his face into the ice? NO.
Was it for elbowing someone in the head with an intent to injure? NO.
The whole tradition of hockey has been letting the players police themselves. If other players think he???s a d*ck, let them take care of it on the ice. If the league had never suspended him over his ???sloppy seconds??? comment, this story would have been over in a day or two.

You have to love the idiots in the NHL front office. I thought what he said was hilarious and I was soooooo waiting to see what the Flames were going to do to him in the game. And they suspend him? This pales in comparision to when Chris Chelios threatened to kill or assault Gary Bentman a couple years ago during the lock-out. Rick Tochet was CONVICTED of running a gambling ring and he a friggin head coach!! If the NHL thinks that the reason they can't a real TV deal is Steve Avery, they are bigger morons than I thought.

Die-hard Cowboy fan who went to the game last night. Did anyone else notice how infrequently R. Williams was on the field? They went with double tight end and two backs to max protect that he was hardly on the field. Way to go Jerry...great trade.

As a Mets fan, the article is ridiculous. We???ve all seen the stats, 16 blown saves since Wagner went down, something like 8 loses after being up by 4 or more runs etc, etc. It???s not so out of this world that two kids feel the weight of every Met Fan and press and try too hard because they know their bullpen won???t hold a lead. What they should have done was unload Heilman to a team that would use him as a starter to get some sort of arm in the bullpen.

As for Beltran, while he might be over priced after cashing in on his playoff run in Houston, but you don???t trade a 30-30 guy that is one of the best defensive center fielders in the game.

There is a phrase in boxing, he???s a puncher, not a boxer. McNair, McNabb and even Culpepper became great QBs (yes, I consider all of them great since you had to plan defense around them) when they stopped being run-first players and became QBs. Akili Smith, Vick, Young, Stewert (all QBs who were going to change the game forever) learned that Linebackers in the NFL are built like brick-houses, run like college cornerbacks and hit A LOT HARDER. Being a great athlete doesn???t make you a good QB.

I hate the comment "so-and so" is a great QB if they are given protection....anyone could be a great QB if they are given protection. That is what being an NFL QB is about, making snap decisions...that's why having the best arm doesn't alsway make you the best QB.

gocanada- Keep in mind that none of the players you mention are their team???s first option offenensivly. While the Rangers had some OK seasons from their young players, none will be a lights-out offensive At 36 years old Jagr is the Rangers primary offensive threat (pretty sad reflection on the Rangers organization if you ask me), and still draws #1 defensive pairings and Selke-type defensive forwards.
