Absolutely. if catching 100 per yr in the slot were so easy, why don't the other precision passers in the league have one? He is always getting open in traffic and piles up the YAC every year. To say he would be nothing without Brady is as accurate as saying Brady would be nothing without Welker.
On Cruz, I am getting sick of the NYG letting young talent leave. As far as I am concerned, Cruz has proven himself and the Jints owe it to Eli to give him at least one target who can make the big catch and stay healthy.
Could Brady have gotten a richer deal elsewhee? Almost certainly. It's not a bad deal for Brady but he has taken less in the restructure than his market value, resulting in an opporuntiy for the team to be more competitive. I think that's the obvious point here. don't know the article author but he clearly has an agenda to make such a baseless claim.
Yes Howard is hurt but the truth is he has always been too passive on the offensive end. The way he gets fed the ball on the low post and consistently passes it back out to the perimeter drives people nuts! In Orlando it kinda made sense because he had 3 pt. shooters camped on the outside but with the Lakers he needs to force the action. Someone should send him a VHS cartridge of Moses Malone or Wes Unseld.
Flacco's in trouble? Goodell screwed up the Saints bountygate, was in the middle of the replacement ref debacle and had a power outage that would get the commisioner of a Pop Warner league in trouble. Can you blame the commissioner for the Superdome failure? the NFL vets everything, so yeah--- it happened on his watch. Taken in isolation, his failings would not call for firing, but they certainly add up. Time for a change. And lay off Flacco --- the NFL know what it would get with mikes on the sidelines.
Of course Moss didnt lose the SB and the interception wasnt his fault either. But every pro athlete, regardless of age and ability, should be expected to go 100% whenever he takes the field. Moss never did this, by his own admission. So yeah he was talented and yeah he had HOF numbers but he was a **** right to the end.
There are things that don't add up or make sense to most of us, but I beleive the kid. One major reason is that if he were that manipulative to set this up he would have thought this all the way through and known it would come out. eventually Instead the story has come out in the most humiliating and destructive way possible for him. So if he is such a clever story teller and actor I think he would have msanaged the endgame a little better. See Armstrong, Lance--Spin Management
Skiles is probably a little too intense for an NBA job. As a player, he would scream at opposing players and his teammates all game long. He was voted the toughest player in the NBA by the players one year. And of course he is the only undersized point guard to square off against Shaq and live to tell about it. Ultracompetitive, but probably not a good fit in a player's league.
In the early days of hoops the court court was fenced in to separate players from fans for their mutual protection (hence the term cagers). We may need to return to those days.... or at least put Bloomberg in a cage.
If Vick is done, his career has been a bit disappointing. Except for one year and part of another he never really put it all together. However, as disappointing as his career stats are I still take my hat off to him for where he was a few years ago and how far he came back to resurrect his life and his career. He seems to have pulled out a victory on the scoreboard that really counts.
Stamina, conditioning, injury rehab are challenges for every player. For a guy with diabetes they are enormous. A blister on your foot that clears up overnight can take weeks to heal for a diabetic and can easily get infected. I'm rooting for this kid.
Eli likes to look for the TE. this kid will be welcome with open arms if he can make it back. The anti-Shockey: he blocks, makes plays, and keeps hois mouth shut.
Cuban isn't nearly as smart as he thinks he is, but he's not stupid. The pile of free agents this year is not a coincidence. Most will be gone. Dallas will be swinging for the fences in the free agent market this winter.
