Obviously you don't remember how the '06, '07, and '08 seasons started. Just because they're not playing a great team doesn't mean they will start 3-0.
Posted Tuesday March 31, 2009, About: Boras asking $50M for college phenom?
Do something in the Majors first before you start asking for 50 million dollars. I understand the kid is putting up insane numbers in college, but he is still going to have to spend time in the minors becuase he isn't good enough right now to get the best hitters in the world out, nobody in college or high school ever is good enough right away. And the scouts who said he could skip the minors should be fired.

Wait. BSPN actually covers baseball? David Stern told them it was OK? It's already been said here but i'll say it again-BSPN sucks anymore. They shove the NBA down everybody's throat because they're getting killed by that contract and have to drive up ratings so they can try and turn a profit from it. MLB Network kicks the **** out of BSPN. You look at the names they have as analysts and compare that to BSPN and you can see BSPN has stopped trying.
Posted Monday February 02, 2009, About: Have Phillies found Romero's replacement?
For everyone calling the World Series tainted-he was tested during the postseason and the tests came back negative for any trace of PEDs, so you can all go **** yourselves when they repeat this year.
Posted Wednesday January 28, 2009, About: Source: Mets closer to signing Perez
Chin lee, the only way the Mets can get rid of Delgado and Castillio is if the Mets eat their contracts, which defeats the whole, purpose of trading him. And why would the Angels give up one of the better young players in baseball for two guys who in all honesty should be bench players, and two aging players who are past their primes?
Posted Monday January 19, 2009, About: Rangers, Phillies still eyeing Sheets
GoStars-If I'm not mistaken hasn't Tom Hicks developed a reputation of overspending for players? He did give A-Rod $250 million and Kevin Millwood $55 million.
Posted Saturday September 06, 2008, About: Schmidt's e-mail irks Mets
Just like Jose Reyes and Fernando Tatis iritate every other team in baseball with that **** little dance they do when Tatis hits a homerun.
Posted Thursday August 28, 2008, About: Do Mets want Yankees' Pavano?
Let's see-he's overpaid, is always hurt and Omar Minaya might think he's a Latino, so yeah they might want him.

CHARLIE is the worst strategical manager ever also

No, the guy who he replaced was the worst strategical manager ever.

I really don't understand the Phillies fascination with Fuestes, they really dont need another closer

It has to do with him being a lefty and taking some of the work load off of JC Romero. There is no way he would close here.
Posted Friday July 18, 2008, About: Blanton pushing Eaton to bullpen?
I was hoping this move would bump Eaton off of the roster. Why would they put him in the bullpen when they already have the best one in the majors.
Posted Monday July 14, 2008, About: Favre's possible Green Bay exit strategy
Anyone who is surprised at how Brett Favre is acting really hasn't been paying atention the last 17 years. His play on the field really showed his personality. He made plays that were idiotic and selfish and he blew atleast 3 more chances for the Packers to go to the Super Bowl. The defining play is against the Vikings in the playoffs when he could have run for a touchdown, but instead he threw the ball to Bubba Franks after he was well past the LOS. And the worst part wasn't that he took a penalty and cost the Pakcers a touchdown, but he was laughing afterwards. Then there were the intercetions against the Rams, Eagles and Giants that ruined three different seasons for the Packers.

Brett Favre is showing not only that he's an overrated QB, but he's a bad teammate because he won't let Aaron Rodgers take over this team because he can't stay out of the spotlight. This is a talented team, and is still the favorite to win the division because Rodgers is better than Tavaris Jackson. But if Favre continues to pull this **** he'll do to them what T.O. and McNabb did to the Eagles in '05 with their constant bickering through the media.
Posted Tuesday June 24, 2008, About: Phillies in market for pitcher
That would be something to see. Although the odds of that happening are slim. Good starting pitching has flattened your offense and I dont see how you win all 4 series with the A's and Mets rotations in there.

Yeah that Mets rotation is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo deadly giving up 14 runs in two games to the worst team in baseball. I love how people are jumping down the Phillies' throats because they are going through a slump that every team goes through over the course of a 162 game season.
Posted Saturday June 21, 2008, About: Schilling's career may be over
To really understand how big of an **** Schilling is, notice that no Phillies fans (where Curt had his best seasons, spent the majority of his career, played for his favorite coach, and pitched the greatest game of his career) are saying anything about Schilling.
Posted Saturday June 14, 2008, About: Mets owners OK firing Randolph
Dandy Lions, the Phillies' starters rank near the top in the majors in innings pitched, and eventhough they lost today Eaton still pitched effectively into the 8th, so their bullpen isn't overworked, and isn't relying on one pitcher like the Mets' bullpen. And the Phillies are just flat out more talented than New York, and every other team in the NL except for maybe Chicago, bUt people are still blinded by the Mets' '06 season and see a lot of the same names there but don't realize that most of them are past their primes and had career years in '06 and they won't match that again. There is a lot about the game that you really need to learn about.
Posted Saturday June 14, 2008, About: Mets owners OK firing Randolph
You know, maybe people just overrated the talent on the Mets. Carlos Delgado is an old 36, Reyes and Beltran are inconsistent and make a lot of stupid plays, Perez is a headcase who more times than not will blow up and have one bad inning that costs the Mets the game, Pelfrey is nowhere close to being ready to pitch in the majors, they have no bench or bullpen, Pedro isn't the pitcher people think he is, Alou hasn't been healthy all year, why are people surprised they've been so mediocre and inconsistent?
Posted Monday May 26, 2008, About: Wright mum on supporting Willie
wait, the Phillies' starters are keeping them in games more times than not and they have the best bullpen in baseball. Mabey you should take an objective look at the Mess and see that a managerial change will do nothing but make this team worse.
Posted Monday May 26, 2008, About: Wright mum on supporting Willie
Wait, you're bringing up the fact that they got swept like the Mets or anybody else in the NL would have done better. And look at the Mets' last 15 games and the phils first 15 and they are almost exactly the same. Second, the Phillies had Utley, Hamels, Myers, Howard, Victorino, Madson, and Gordon for an extended period of time, if they were healthy the Phils would have runaway with the division. But why don't you try moving past '07.

The 2007 Mets lost the NL East on the last day of the season to an inferior Philadelphia team
baseballpurist | 05/26/08, 05:41 PM

Yeah, an inferior team that took 8 straight from thos overrated Mets, next time try and make a comment that doesn't make you sound like an idiotic homer.
Posted Monday May 26, 2008, About: Wright mum on supporting Willie
You were accurate until these two "gems". Maine is top 5 in the NL this year. Can't think of any team other than the DBacks who wouldnt want him as their number 1 or 2. As far as Johan, he should have 8 wins already...the bullpen blew a few and the lineup was held scoreless in another.
Otherwise, good post.

Report Offensive Comment

First my point about Johan has nothing to do with his W-L record, but rather something every scout and talennt evaluator who has seen him pitch have all said he's lost some of his velocity and it showed when he was only able to get 1 K while giving up 12 hits to Atlanta, and he's still giving up a lot of HRs, tied for 5th in HRs allowed. As for John Maine, I should have mentioned that that comment goes back to last season when he was awful in the 2nd half, and that is what Meys fans need to watch for because his start this year is a lot like the start he got off to in '07.
